Bright Kids at Coughton is based in Coughton, South Warwickshire and was previously known as The Old School Nursery. On the A435 south of Studley, north of Alcester and situated in Sambourne Lane, opposite the historic Coughton Court, the Coughton Nursery offers indoor and outdoor play on a daily basis, providing the children with essential play opportunities to learn from.

The facilities at Coughton include a large playspace that is ready for Bright Kids to develop further into an interesting environment for children to learn and explore. Indoors, babies have their own dedicated area with activities suitable for their development. The Toddlers & Pre-school children share a space with integrated learning aimed at their individual learning needs.

The nursery plan to bring all of the experiences offered in their other settings to Coughton. They will be introducing a Curious theme to their learning and offering training to the whole team. They will also be looking to continue their adventures in the local area and seeing how they can interact with it through taking walks and joining in with local activities and then they can also go further afield using their own minibus.

I've been really pleased with our experience at Coughton. The staff are kind and attentive, and they make an effort to create a positive, welcoming environment. My child seems happy and comfortable there, and I appreciate how the nursery offers a variety of activities to keep her engaged. The facilities
are well-maintained, and communication via the app has been great. My daughter loves her time at nursery and I feel very confident leaving my child in the care of the nursery.

I was invited to a 'stay & play' where parents /grandies spend an hour or so in nursery with the children. I have to confess being a Grandparent, I didn't grasp the concept of Brightkids. Toddlers playing with real China Tea sets & things in general up cycled from real life as opposed to plastic 'safe'
toys - seemed dangerous. Instead I was amazed at all the children's early grasp of how to handle things carefully & with regard. The toddlers all appeared so confident and kind to each other. It was a wonderful caring environment . I came out converted! (Also noted the concept is good for the environment). 1 happy Grandparent.

My son started Jan 2025 and is absolutely loving it. Staff are lovely and the space is always clean. He never not wants to go to nursery in the morning which shows to me he's more than happy at Coughton! Thank you team for making his first nursery experience as good as it is I couldn't ask for more!

The staff at Coughton are wonderful and it is really clear that they really care about the children. They go above and beyond to provide exciting and educational experiences. Communication with parents is excellent and there are lots of great opportunities throughout the year for parents to engage in

My son is absolutely thriving at Bright Kids Coughton. He is so happy learning lots and the team really care about him. He gets individualised attention and care. He is learning independence and life skills, and is being prepared for school. But, most importantly, he is allowed to be a child and play
inside and outside as a mum as he wants. We love this nursery and warmly recommend it.

Very happy with the care and provision. My daughter is very happy at nursery. She loves the staff and will talk about them with affection when at home. She enjoys the food. Communication is very good through the app with daily/regular communication of my daughter's activities. We've only had one issue
(re payment) which was actioned by management to have a positive resolution. Overall, very pleased!

My little girl loves this nursery, she runs in happy as everything every morning. The staff are so friendly and it's clear to see how much they care about the children. We get regular updates about what she's been up to. The feel of the nursery is like a home from home, so incredibly cosy. I wouldn't

The staff are brilliant, they are very friendly and I feel like they really do know my son. They are very attentive and caring, and my son really enjoys his time there. Our baby girl joined this nursery in February this year at just 7 months old, and it has been nothing short of wonderful for her! Her development has come on leaps and bounds, we are updated daily on feeds/nappies/sleep/activity etc. Not to mention the amazing staff who are so loving, welcoming, and
joyful towards our daughter. They have made us feel so at ease with the transition into nursery and couldn't be more grateful. I already feel sad for our daughter to leave when it's time to start school. The setting is such a calm, but sensory-filled environment. All of the children seem incredibly happy to be here. I never have any worries about dropping our daughter off at nursery and love seeing her so happy here.

I am so glad we chose Bright Kids Coughton for our son. The staff have been so caring towards us both - helping us to transition into the nursery with daily reassurance he is okay. He always has fun and loves being outside which seems to be a key feature of the days. All of the staff have been so welcoming
and are open to suggestions on how to make his day even better. I would highly recommend the nursery.

My daughter really flourishes here. The activities available are changed regularly and the setup allows her to choose her own course of play. It's a relaxed atmosphere that allows her to concentrate on what she's interested in learning through play at any given time, while the daily routine/structure

My daughter attended Coughton for around 12 months and absolutely loved it. The staff really helped her to settle in quickly, her confidence grew immensely. Coughton were always very accomodating and always on hand to help. For a first taste of nursery, we can't fault them, just gutted to leave due
to relocating home.

A beautiful setting that has gone above and beyond for our little boy. Our son loves attending nursery and has developed real bonds with all the staff and even the other children (of all ages)! He's developed so much in such a short amount of time and we cannot thank the staff enough for all they do.

Our son currently attends Bright Kids at Coughton and we are very happy. The staff are all fab and there is a very nurturing and family-like atmosphere there. Every staff member knows every child really well, so there is no issue on handover or collection if his key worker is unavailable. The curiosity
approach that they follow is lovely and there is always a great provision for the children. He often struggles to separate from me but the staff are really kind and helpful and have put in place strategies to support this for us and are happy for me to call to check he’s settled ok (which he nearly always has two minutes later). We would highly recommend the nursery.

I graduated from the University of Worcester in 2014 and have been working in early years settings, both in mainstream and special education ever since.


Creating a magical ‘home from home’ atmosphere for the children in our beautiful setting is something our team work so wonderfully hard to achieve. I enjoy messy play as I believe learning through play is such an important part of childhood development.


Seeing our awe and wonder filled setting spark the children’s imagination and their natural curiosity is something that fills our team full of joy every day. I am the SENCO at Coughton and have a real passion for SEN provision and education.


Coughton Nursery is a beautiful and unique setting which provides a lovely environment for the children to take part in a play based curriculum and a variety of activities to gain skills and knowledge needed as a foundation to their learning, it is also a lovely place for the staff to work!
