Monkey Puzzle Chesham meets the needs of babies and young children, with large, bright open plan rooms, a creative outdoor play area and a variety of modern equipment providing children with a stimulating environment in which to thrive.

They have a professional, dedicated team, that will use their knowledge to provide stimulating and educational activities that inspire, challenge and engage the children. The nursery atmosphere is loving, friendly and happy and the children at Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Chesham learn through play, following the EYFS curriculum.

Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery is conveniently located in Chesham Town Centre, next door to Thomas Harding School on Fullers Hill. For parents who commute to London, Monkey Puzzle is conveniently located close to Chesham Train Station. The nursery is set in a converted building and provides high quality facilities for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery is a 60 place setting with specially designed and equipped rooms for Babies – 3 Months to 1 year, Tweenies – 1 to 2 years, Toddlers – 2 to 3 years and Pre-School- 3 to 5 year. Each of the areas has its own brightly coloured, child-friendly toilets and changing facilities. The nursery also benefits from outside play areas, which are equipped with the latest impact resistant floor surface to ensure peace of mind when the inevitable tumbles occur.

They provide fresh home cooked food to the children, prepared on-site by the experienced Chef. Fees are inclusive of freshly prepared breakfast, lunch, tea snacks and drinks. Daily menus are carefully selected by a professional nutritionist to meet the requirements of growing children.

My son has been attending Monkey Puzzle since September 2020 having moved from a different nursery. The staff are always really happy and engaging with the children and always do great updates using the parent app which I find even more important at the moment when it isn't possible to see the children
inside the nursery. The management team have also been amazing at responding when I've had any queries. I couldn't recommend Monkey Puzzle enough! 10/10 from me!

My daughter joined Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Chesham age two and a half without ever been cared for by anyone else and never having attended childcare. I was aware this was going to be a massive transition and anticipated a real challenge settling her. I have to say the attitude, approach from the staff
and general atmosphere of Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Chesham made the experience easy, smooth for my daughter to adapt and without ever a single concern from me. In just a few months of attending she has grown from being non verbal with strangers to forming full sentences, having a great interest in books, other children and people. She has a great sense of imagination and I feel she is getting a real head start educationally too. I have to credit all of this to the staff and management who are fantastic.

I was very nervous putting my son in nursery at first but the staff at Monkey Puzzle have made it so easy. They are very caring and keep you up to date with everything. My son is now settling in well and has made great bonds with staff. They have great activities and share these on the Famly app. My
son has also been really enjoying the food! I am very pleased with my childcare choice and would definitely recommend!

We have been so thrilled with all aspects of Monkey Puzzle. The staff have always been friendly and helpful, and really care about the children. It has been a really difficult time to keep a nursery open but the team have done everything they can to ensure this. The play looks wonderful, as does the
food, and the app giving updates throughout the day is amazing.

We are thrilled with Monkey Puzzle, our son has really enjoyed his days learning and playing. The staff are great - very kind and caring. They are really good at keeping us updated about his development and progress on a daily basis and we love the Famly App used to keep a record of the everyday activities,
reports and updates. The fact that we can see in real-time his naps, nappy changes and eating is very reassuring. He has really gained speed in his communication and motor skills since starting and it's great for him to be interacting with all the other babies in a safe happy environment. The babies do a wide range of different activities with a focus on a different skill set each time and he has developed very strong relationships with all the carers. The setting is lovely and as he progresses he will be very excited to move up the classes and play and learn in all the wonderful spaces provided. Most importantly, we feel we can trust the Monkey Puzzle team with our son's wellbeing.

My daughter attends this nursery and I cannot praise them enough. During the pandemic, I have been working and they have remained open since July to support us with childcare. They have strict policies in place which are communicated when there are changes. The online app, they use to post images and
videos of my daughter and document her daily diary, which is provided is amazing and is a great add-on to a first-time parent like me. I love seeing what she is learning and how my child is developing. The management team are so caring, positive, happy and dedicated and this shows through in everything they do. My daughter is happy to come to Monkey Puzzle Chesham and created incredible bonds with her carers in her room. She loves getting messy but a testament to her having fun with the activities planned. Added bonus is the chef makes up some great fresh meals which he shares pictures of often. Thanks for all your hard work.

Monkey Puzzle Chesham are great with our son and his little brother will be joining him there in a couple of months. They have handled all the COVID-19 regulations very well, keeping us all updated efficiently and quickly. The children are always happy at pick up and have lots to talk about with a range
of indoor and outdoor activities available. I have recommended this nursery to two friends already and as long as my children are happy and well looked after there, I am happy. The staff are friendly and approachable and appear to care which is reassuring.

When I first visited I was immediately struck by the warmth of the environment and how much thought had gone into each area within the nursery. The space is perfectly laid out throughout with all the right equipment and toys to stimulate and develop any child (the photos don't do it justice). I was
immediately stuck by the passion the manager showed towards childcare and her vision in how she and the team wanted to approach child development; from toilet training to motor skill development, and general education.


Since my little boy started we've seen such rapid growth in him from their efforts. The team they have are all warm, kind and genuinely caring, giving meaningful feedback on our son whenever we pick him up, noticing if he's not himself or highlighting when he's been extra giggly. The app they partner with is excellent and a great way to get updates throughout the day, with the "Observations" a fantastic way to see key development. I could not recommend them highly enough!

We have a very happy toddler who enjoys going to nursery every day. Monkey Puzzle has helped her grown and learn so much. Every day she comes home knowing new words and sounds. The staff are also amazing and treat the kids like family. Leaving my daughter there every morning I know she is in great hands.

Our 13-month-old son started here at the nursery in March 2020 just before lockdown when we just moved to Chesham. What a lovely nursery. My son attends full time and the way he has developed is amazing. He is always happy to attend and is a confident and talkative little boy. The staff are friendly
and always upbeat. Communication from the nursery is great and as a parent, I always feel I'm kept in the loop about my child's development and what he does with his time there. The variety of food offered is good with lots of range. Thank you to everyone at Monkey Puzzle Chesham. We would highly recommend this nursery for anyone looking for caring friendly staff, a beautiful nursery that offers a safe, nurturing and fun environment to learn.

My 2-year-old son attends this nursery 5 days a week and absolutely loves it! He found it very difficult to separate from both myself and my wife at the start but the team at Monkey Puzzle were so supportive and understanding with settling him into the nursery, he is now a completely different little
boy. I can see the positive difference the nursery has made to his confidence and he’s developing so well. Highly recommend!

We have had a great experience settling our 10-month-old into Monkey Puzzle especially given all of the COVID restrictions. I was nervous at first but the team totally take all of the stress away, the children love them and the bond they create is very special. They have an app which is updated in what
feels like real-time so you know exactly what is going on. The development reports are very thorough and so exciting to receive. They always have new games and activities which are so imaginative and well thought through. My child’s development has taken off since attending Monkey Puzzle and I totally trust the team with looking after my most prized possession! I would recommend to anyone that asks!

I was struggling to find a suitable setting for my six month old son, so I attended an open day at the newly reopened Chesham Monkey Puzzle. We received a warm welcome from the management team and staff. All of the rooms are really well equipped, newly decorated and spotlessly clean. The baby room has
a dedicated nap area which is like a home from home. It’s very clear that the new owners have done everything to ensure the setting is of a high quality and welcoming for the children. There is lovely outside space too. My son attends four sessions a week and has settled in very easily and that is down to the caring nature of the staff. The weekly menus offer a nice variety of foods and the level of communication is second to none. I get daily updates via an app on my son's daily activities, naps and mealtimes so this has been really reassuring. I cannot recommend this setting highly enough, it’s a real gem and you won’t find nicer staff. Go and see for yourself.

I am so pleased to be taking over Monkey Puzzle Chesham as the new Owner and excited to see all the positive changes I have planned and made come to life already. My main focus has been community events and partnerships, improving the indoor children’s rooms and cleaning up the garden.


Chesham is very community focussed which I love, so we have arranged many exciting outings such as visiting the dentist and doctor, a trip to see Dear Zoo at the Elgiva Theatre, visits to the 2 closest care homes as well as and having the PCSO to come and visit us. I am in the process of painting the nursery and making the setting look more inviting for the children and staff. We have a new incentive called Monkey P’s where the staff are rewarded with points which amount to vouchers if they receive Employee of the Month, or Room of the Month if a visitor or parent mentions them positively.


The feedback from the parent survey highlighted that they wanted the children to be outside in the environment more, therefore I have arranged a trip with Chiltern Railways to visit the stream where they will look at how to take care of the area and have a look at what is in the stream. The nursery is growing and we are making amazing changes to ensure all children are getting the very best from our lovely setting
