There’s never been a more important time to be outdoors and Back to the Garden Childcare sets new standards in post-Covid childcare with its innovative outdoor classroom, forest schools-based curriculum and all-seasons learning and exploration space.

Organic child-led learning in the great outdoors has always been very firmly at the heart of the ethos at Back to the Garden, with the nursery committed to a natural approach based around spending as much time as possible within nature and enjoying fresh air.

The nursery has invested heavily in its already beautiful outdoor areas to create an exceptional exploration space full of wonder that includes a magnificent all-weather tepee, woodworking shed and garden. The playscape allows children to be children, harness the power of their own imaginations and experiment with nature and all of her natural resources to develop at their own pace.

The outdoor classroom and daily forest school sessions are unique to Back to the Garden. The tepee is an engaging area which is used for storytelling, regular yoga sessions and wellness activities that enables the children to enjoy light projections and learning experiences with the nursery's wonderful external partners, such as The Whitworth art gallery in Manchester.

The woodworking shed is a superb space with endless possibilities for creative play, complemented by the much loved forest school that includes activities such as playing with tools, singing, making dens and exploring the natural world.

Being outdoors is fundamental to the nursery's values and the outdoor classroom and forest school curriculum provide an enviable and organic nursery space in which pre-schoolers can interact, discover and physically challenge themselves.

Back To The Garden Childcare is a wonderful nursery. I feel that they nurture and educate my boys in a child-centric way, making learning and exploring so much fun. Creativity, kindness and respect for the natural world are at the heart of everything they do and I love the fact that children spend so
much time outside. The staff are incredible. They are caring, knowledgeable and well organised, often putting on super events for both children and parents. Their chef makes an effort to prepare some really fantastic meals and I love the range of food they get to eat. I really cannot recommend this nursery enough. I will be sad to see my boys leave!

Preschool staff are wonderful, however since the class numbers have increased it’s very hit and miss if we receive daily reports on what our child has eaten which is important to us.
It's imperative aprons are provided as many sets of clothes have been ruined and I’m surprised after being open for
over 12 months they’re not already in use.
On the whole, we’re very happy but feel a few things need some attention.

I have nothing but positive things to say. The staff are amazing very friendly and approachable. My son gets very upset when I leave him, and they all go that extra mile to make him happy. I also get a courtesy phone call just to let me know he has settled. He is becoming a very independent and intelligent
little boy and this is thanks to the team at Back To The Garden, they are amazing! Thank you all.

My daughter has been there for 6 months and she enjoys it very much. Moreover, I am reassured by the fact that she has bonded with some of the staff and knows them by name. Unlike most nurseries, here there is much space and natural light and has a good biometric security system. Plenty of parking makes
dropping off and picking up easier and there is a shed to store buggies. They have a good-sized garden which is a hard find. The staff show a personal interest in my daughter which is encouraging. Their menu is healthy and tasty. The online login system allows me to review her daily activities, nap time, meals etc. I would definitely recommend it.

Back To The Garden has brought her development on leaps and bounds, and she expresses genuine happiness at going to nursery.

Wonderful nursery with a fantastic ethos. The staff are so kind and caring and the children well looked after.
The facilities are fantastic, especially the garden and natural toys.
The emphasis on child-led and outdoor play was what attracted us to the nursery as well as its convenient location.
They also have a big focus on the natural world and sustainability which is great.
Improvements are continually being made as the nursery becomes more established and the team expands.
The nursery is always clean and tidy, with a wonderful atmosphere aided by relaxing music and essential oils in reception and the amazing living wall that my daughter gets excited by every time she sees it!

We are so lucky to have this superb nursery in Broadheath. Its location next to a primary school and the new community hall could not be more convenient, making school drop-offs and pick-ups really easy. The facilities re brilliant - spacious, lots of daylight, fab garden with teepee, and the staff
team are wonderful too. I couldn't ask for more from a nursery. I love the outdoor play emphasis, the yoga they do, the amazing art room, the library area.
