Seahorse Nursery Southfields is a family-owned nursery based within Linden Lodge School. They opened this nursery in 2020 and have a wonderful team of trained and experienced teachers whose passion it is to care and teach the children in their care!

The beautiful nursery has four outdoor play areas including 2 gardens, a playground and a woodland walk with a fish pond, trampoline and bug hotel as well as 2 warm and welcoming classrooms equipped with exciting spaces to explore! In the 2-4 year old room, they have an exciting role-play corner where you can be transported into a new world, from a police station to a restaurant in London!

A construction area, Montessori play opportunities, awe and wonder area filled with natural resources, and access to specifically planned activities based on the prime and specific areas of the EYFS such as maths, Literacy, and expressive arts and design. In the 0-2-year-old room they have a home corner area that helps to spark curiosity and an understanding of the world around them from a young age, a black and white corner for younger babies, active story areas with puppets, a variety of sensory experiences such as water and sand play, and much more!   

With a focus on learning through play, the team at Seahorse Nursery endeavours to provide endless opportunities for children to play, learn and explore, enhancing their socialisation and communication skills, promoting their independence and confidence and developing all those key skills during their early years.

They offer a range of extracurricular classes such as Tennis and French Lessons, Forest School, language group sessions and music classes. Theyhave weekly visits to the Library for a special story session with the librarian and the Starfish classroom have access to Hartbeeps who come in for a sensory session.

I am absolutely thrilled with my daughter's nursery! Seahorse is an amazing place, with fantastic facilities both inside and outside. The staff is incredibly caring and attentive, and my daughter loves them all, no matter which class they're from. We receive daily feedback on her activities and progress,
which gives us a great sense of involvement. The staff is always willing to accommodate any special needs or requirements we have for our little one. They're also happy to meet with us to discuss any concerns and offer useful advice on what we can implement at home. My daughter has developed a deep love for her Seahorse class, to the point where she asks every day if it's Seahorse day, even on weekends! It's a wonderful feeling knowing that she's excited to go there and feels so comfortable. I highly recommend Seahorse to any parent looking for a caring and enriching environment for their child.

From the moment our daughter started at Seahorse - a little over a year ago - we were taken in by the warm atmosphere and delighted to see the quick connection she established with all of the staff. These bonds have only strengthened over time and she arrives and leaves each day with a big smile on
her face! The days are varied and the regular parent / key worker catch ups are informative and re-assuring. We have felt incredibly comfortable with Seahorse since day one and really couldn't recommend it highly enough!

We love Seahorses Southfields and could not recommend them enough! From the first home visit to now (four months later) we have felt so cared for by every single member of their team. This includes people who do not work directly in my child's room as well as office members who are only sometimes in
the building. The genuine care for each child is palpable and it is clear how focussed they are on centring their development and well-being in everything they do.
I cannot overstate how generous our child's key person has been with her time and thoughtfulness for our daughter (and us). We feel incredibly lucky to have someone in our lives who cares for our child the way that they do. Their wealth of knowledge and experience has helped me as a parent in understanding where my daughter is developmentally and how best to support her growth at home, which has been wonderful.
Seahorses Southfields has built a positive, warm, welcoming space that you can feel from the minute you walk inside.

Fantastic Nursery!
This nursery has been amazing for our little one! The staff is incredibly caring and attentive, creating a warm, fun, and safe environment. The activities are engaging; our child has grown so much in confidence and learning here. Communication is excellent, with regular updates

I could not recommend Seahorses Nursery more highly!
Our daughter joined when she was only 9 months old and is clearly having the best time at nursery. She has settled in so quickly and all of the staff are incredibly friendly, supportive and caring.
Communication has been clear, the facilities
are superb, and the range of activities has been exceptional.
Our daughter could not be in better hands. Would recommend to any other parents.

Seahorse Nursery has been exceptional in their commitment to childcare.
My daughter suffers from severe multiple food allergies and she had a difficult time settling. As a result, she developed selective mutism and anxiety around eating. A particular male teacher worked closely with her reassuring
her with warmth, love, and patience. Members of staff encouraged her to communicate using basic language, gestures, cards, stickers, books, and one-on-one time. The extracurricular classes she has access to, language classes, and visits to the library helped increase her confidence.
Managerial staff were flexible and allowed me to sit in with her during tea and made home visits, which helped her feel safe.
Due to their exceptional dedication to childcare, my daughter has overcome her anxiety and is now able to communicate, eat, and drink and she is thriving at Seahorse.
Members of staff went above and beyond their duty of care. I highly recommend Seahorse Nursery.

Our daughter started at Seahorse a few months ago and we've been so impressed at how welcoming and inclusive everyone has been. She has built a lovely relationship with her key person, which has really helped her grow into a confident little girl. Every morning she runs into the nursery, says hello
and gives the staff in her room a cuddle before she settles in for breakfast. The daily activities are great, we love seeing and hearing what she's been up to - from making music and baking bread to messy play, and trips to the library. It's no surprise to us that she's coming home with new words every day.

I enjoyed the Mother's Day play, but it was a little tight in the room (small chairs).
I think it would have been better if we were all standing up around the room by the walls. In general, I am happy with the nursery, activities and learning experience my son is having every day.

My daughter is thriving at this school. The teachers are caring, patient, and attentive, and have created a welcoming and nurturing environment. The kids partake in a variety of activities like forest school, French lessons, tennis, outings to the local library, and yoga. They have great facilities
including a soft play area, a large contained outdoor space, and a forest on the property! They have structured but creative ways of teaching the children, keeping their learning engaging and impactful. The school proactively communicates with parents, and they’re responsive to emails and calls during the day. At pick up they give detailed updates of your child’s day.
My daughter has additional needs and they have been very inclusive. They’ve also engaged with our local council to provide additional support.
The best part is that my daughter is happy going to school every day and oftentimes doesn’t want to leave at pick up!

The staff have been absolutely fantastic in nurturing my child at Seahorse. They were so kind and warm and undoubtedly the best part of this nursery.
Daily communications are sent to the parents by email and the app with photos. We really enjoyed getting the daily feedback over the years and seeing
how my child has progressed in his numerical and literacy skills.
The opportunity to speak to staff members is always there, and quick response to emails too.
We couldn’t thank you enough for providing a high level of care during my child's early years and making his social and educational experience within the school setting so fun!
We would always (and have been) recommend Seahorse Nursery to any parents in the area.

The nursery staff were nurturing and attentive to our child and really helped them progress onto phonics and other skills which were useful in starting reception this year. In addition, they helped prepare the children mentally to move on to 'big school'. They really foster the older children taking
care of the younger children and a sharing environment. Lots of outside play, forest school and activities too.

We were extremely happy with the care the nursery gave our eldest daughter and continues to give our youngest daughter. The staff are excellent and provide a loving, fun, and educational environment for the children. My daughters really enjoyed their time at nursery. I had total confidence that the

Hi - I'm the Principal of Seahorse Nursery. I’m the person who is responsible for making sure all our children are learning, happy and safe while in our care. I grew up in Southfields living above the original term time setting and have been teaching in Early Years since 2012. Before moving into Early Years full time I worked for the Home Office in London and the European Parliament in Brussels. I studied at Kingston University for my Early Years Teacher Qualification and more recently studied at the Said Business School at Oxford University through a Goldman Sachs small business programme. I live locally in Southfields and have two children. My main responsibilities are teaching and learning, day-to-day operations, recruitment and safeguarding. Carly has been the Area Manager of Seahorse Nursery since joining the team in 2017, after gaining years of experience and training since starting her career in the early years of 2011. She received her degree in BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education from the University of Roehampton and continues to take part in training every year on a range of different topics and is especially knowledgeable in Safeguarding, SEN and Health and Safety Practice.

I joined Seahorse Nursery in 2022 as a deputy manager and later transitioned to Manager. My journey in childcare began in 2015 as an apprentice studying for my level 2 and 3 qualifications. Drawing from my 10 years of experience in childcare, I ensure that my team of dedicated and passionate teachers delivers high-quality teaching and care to the children in our setting. I serve as the Designated Safeguarding Officer and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). I am committed to supporting parents from diverse backgrounds and helping them transition into joining the nursery. Whether it's returning to work after maternity leave, moving to the UK from another country, or enrolling your child in a nursery for social opportunities, I am here to support you. The children are at the heart of every decision I make, and I ensure that the children are at the utmost priority.
