Located in the heart of Sunninghill, Ascot, The Marist School Nursery is a full-time Nursery for boys and girls from 2 to 4 years old.

The Nursery offers a happy, friendly, and welcoming environment, encouraging children to be curious, build on their independence, and develop a love for learning. Play underpins the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage and children learn through both self-initiated play and carefully planned adult-led play activities in both the indoor and outdoor environment.

Children have continuous access to the beautiful 55-acre outdoor setting which offers rich learning experiences. These range from 'cooking' in the mud kitchen to hiding in the willow tree and building dens in the forest. Swimming lessons in the school's on-site indoor pool and ballet classes are offered as part of the school day.

The majority of the girls who start in Nursery continue their learning into the Prep Phase, before moving up into the Senior and Sixth Form Phases.

My wife and I moved our daughter to The Marist Nursery in the Spring of 2023 so she could enjoy the large outdoor space and forest school.
She thrived in the beautiful green space, supported by caring staff who ensured she had fun as well as got a headstart on learning - making it fun as well as teaching
social responsibility to the kids as they interacted. She's still at the school and loves it.

What a wonderful nursery to send your child to. We have sent both our daughters there. The staff are simply fantastic. They are so welcoming, kind, nurturing, happy and attentive towards the kid's needs. Our daughter is so happy to go to nursery, she does so many different activities and is learning
already so much. The outdoor space is incredible, there are so many activities they can do and toys to play with. The rooms are spacious and full of resources to learn and develop. We couldn't ask for a better place for our daughter.

As a stay-at-home Mum, I was very cautious about where to send my daughter as she has never been away from me but The Marist have gone over and above to make me and her feel comfortable. The nursery is always clean, the staff always happy and the activities always fun! My daughter comes out telling
me all about the fun day she's had. The staff are very helpful and kind. Quick to answer any questions and just overall excellent at their jobs. The Marist nursery is truly one of a kind.

Our daughter couldn't wait to get to nursery every day. The nursery grounds are beautiful and well-used. The planning was creative, engaging and inspiring. Our daughter made great progress in all areas and felt safe and loved.

We couldn't be happier with The Marist! The staff are absolutely amazing - kind, fun, professional and caring. From the very first day, we could tell our child felt happy and safe.
The progress our child has made in such a short time has been incredible. They're already picking up phonics and early
reading, well before Reception, which is really impressive. The Marist strikes the perfect balance between challenging the children and making learning fun, so they're always engaged and excited to learn.
The grounds are beautiful, with plenty of space for outdoor play, which our daughter loves. The facilities are fantastic too, with loads of activities and resources that keep them entertained and learning all day long.
We're genuinely thrilled with everything about The Marist. Our daughter is thriving, and we couldn't ask for more in terms of care, education, and the overall environment. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a nurturing and stimulating nursery.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.950)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.950) out of 10 for The Marist School Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.950 for The Marist School Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (57 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.95

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Marist School Nursery is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 number of registered child places is 10. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
