Benington Nursery is proud to have been rated Ofsted ‘outstanding’ in July 2022.

Benington Nursery is situated on the grounds of Benington Primary School in Stevenage. They welcome children from Stevenage, Walkern, Great Ashby, Dane End, Aston, Ardeley and surrounding areas. They offer high-quality care and education for children aged 2 to 5 in a safe, secure and stimulating environment. The Nursery is open term-time only (they follow the same schedule as Stevenage schools) and they run private and funded flexible sessions, lunch clubs and afternoon play sessions from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Benington Nursery welcomes children from 2 years old until they go to primary school, from any and every background, nationality, culture and religion. Children go onto Benington Primary, Walkern Primary, Heathmount and other primary schools in Stevenage. They pride themselves on celebrating all cultures, religions, traditions and languages. The nursery supports children with special needs and has a resident Special Needs Coordinator on staff as well as close ties with Children’s Services, the area SENCO and all the local health visitors.

Benington Nursery provides free and flexible 15 hour funded sessions for 2, 3 & 4 year olds!

They also offer 30 hours extended free childcare for qualifying parents!

A fantastic nursery that provides a wonderful environment for little ones to grow and explore. Lots of outdoor play, messy play, water play etc. They even have a little pet turtle called Bill. My son always comes out with a huge smile on his face (and sand in his shoes). My son had to move from a different
nursery with no warning and he settled in immediately due to the perfect transition support from the teachers. I cannot fault this nursery and highly recommend Bennington Nursery.

My child has been attending the nursery for around a year and is due to graduate into reception in September. The staff have all been fantastic and my daughter has come on leaps and bounds since attending the nursery.
This is also the happiest my child has ever been in a childcare setting and hasn't
cried once about going into school!

Great little nursery!
My son settled in really well and the staff are brilliant when he is having an off day.
He always! Comes out smiling.
I feel very safe leaving him there and if there are any issues such as not playing very well with other children it's resolved in a kind and caring way.

Both my son and daughter went to this nursery. They have both been very happy. The staff are amazing and attentive and my children loved them. They spend lots of time outside which I love but always have access to the inside. It’s set in village school grounds which is also lovely. I’d definitely recommend
it.

My son started at Benington in February when he turned two. I hadn’t been aware of such a wonderful setting so close to where we live. I’d searched high and low for places but just wasn’t happy with what I’d seen. Benington is perfect, their relaxed child-led activities and child-focused ethos are great!
There is a great casual and friendly atmosphere. A home from home feeling to the place, which is exactly what I wanted for my son. The outstanding Ofsted report is something they should be so proud of and is well deserved. Before having my own children my whole career was teaching and running early years settings, so I feel I have experience in this area and Benington, the lovely staff, the wonderful outdoor play area, natural heuristic materials and not forgetting, the turtle, is a winner for us!

As a parent, apprehensive of my child starting nursery due to personal circumstances, the team at Benington Nursery have all played an incredible role in helping my child settle, develop and progress.
They have been there for us both and offered support when needed. Always happy to accommodate when
and where possible.
The balance between learning and play is great. My child always comes home with a smile.
I have every confidence in all the staff at Benington Nursery. A very close-knit, open and happy environment for any family looking for a safe place for their child to take the first steps towards his/her education.

My son has been with the ladies at Benington for 2 years now. He has loved his time at the nursery and has made friends and has become very fond of the team who put their all in to ensure he is happy and safe whilst at nursery. It’s a very small nursery and therefore very personal - would recommend
this fun safe space no doubt. We will be sad to leave!

I would highly recommend this setting for children.
What they offer is a kind environment, full of fun, and support and critically tailored to the child.
All of the leaders/helpers are approachable and my son entered his trial day today at the reception- ready, confident and excited. This is hugely
thanks to the staff preparing the children for the next steps all along the way.
They treat the children with patience, love and allow them to explore in a safe space.
There is always lots to do.
We will be very sad to leave such a wonderful place.
