Shooting Star Childcare (Welling) is a 25-place home-based nursery based in Avondale Road, Welling. Shooting Star Childcare was originally set up as an Ofsted-registered childminding setting in 2016 which was rated "Good."

They gained their permission to expand by Ofsted in 2020 and now hold a "childcare on domestic premises registration alongside the childminding registration meaning that they can offer a homely environment without sacrificing the important Early Years Education that Early Years providers offer. They believe they offer the perfect balance between home and nursery and voluntarily work with smaller child-staff ratios to give the children a more personalised experience. The nursery was graded "Good" by Ofsted in July 2021.

Shooting Star Childcare (Welling) has a team who is either fully qualified to level 3 Early Years Educator or who are working towards their qualification. 100% of the staff hold an enhanced DBS, Safeguarding training and paediatric First Aid certificates. Languages spoken by staff include English, Gujarati, French and Russian.

I recently had the pleasure of enrolling my child in Shooting Star Nursery, and I couldn't be happier with our experience! This place truly deserves a five-star review. From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The staff is absolutely amazing; they are
not only highly qualified but also genuinely caring and attentive to each child's needs.
My child has shown remarkable improvement since starting here. The engaging activities and nurturing environment have fostered both social and cognitive skills. I've noticed my child becoming more confident and curious, always excited to share what they've learned each day. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every child feels valued and supported, making it a fantastic place for early development. I highly recommend Shooting Star Nursery to any parent looking for a nurturing and enriching environment for their little ones!

Shooting Stars is a home away from home for our son.
They provide a loving, creative, safe and playful world for the children to inhabit.
He learns so much (as did his sister who was there before him) and it almost feels like every day he goes on another adventure to somewhere new.
Great food is
provided giving a varied diet with everything cooked from scratch.
Myself and my husband often joke that we would like to attend because it looks so much fun.

Lovely staff who always try their best for the children. Being on home premises, this is a great balance between a home and an educational setting and my child has learnt a lot more than at their previous nursery. My child has a key worker but all staff are involved in his care. This really helps maintain
the feeling of a family.
The food provided is vegetarian and is cooked daily at the setting. There is a menu which is varied and my child seems to enjoy most foods.
There are several different activity providers that attend and my son is learning British Sign Language as well as French.

My daughter joined Shooting Star Childcare in January 2023 till now. We loved the overall experience here. The director and other teachers made my daughter feel comfortable and helped her settle quickly. Overall staff are warm and nurturing, creating a wonderful atmosphere for kids. The diverse activities
keep them engaged and learning. Especially, my daughter enjoyed Lingo tots sessions where they teach other languages. The nursery maintains excellent hygiene and safety standards. My daughter has shown tremendous growth and happiness. Highly recommend Shooting Star Childcare.

My daughter is going to Shooting Star since November last year and she was very happy to attend every day. She has learned so many things and always getting very excited to tell me how was her day when I picked her up. Everyone is very friendly and professional. The manager is amazing and always there
to listen and help if there is any problem with my child and give advice about what can be done. The nursery is very warm and welcoming. Also very safe inside and plenty of space for the kids to play inside and out. Daily activities covering different subjects. Honestly, we are very happy and strongly recommending Shooting Star. It is a home away from home.

My son has been attending Shooting Star Nursery for the past 3 months and it's been a brilliant experience. The parents are kept up to date with an app, and you can see the people who work there genuinely care for your children.
It's a great environment and my son is thriving there, the activities
are always changing, there a themes to each week/month, and external providers coming in to provide additional activities for the children.
A great setting and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to any other parents.

My son has been going to Shooting Star since February 2022 and it's been great for him and us.
The app is really helpful at keeping us updated with photos and also information about nap times, toilet/nappy changes etc. and what activities they have done that day, as well as the food eaten, which gives
complete peace of mind.
The staff are really lovely and all very friendly and the activities that they have are great too. I know my son has been so excited and proud when he has received certificates or the 'star of the week', which is wonderful for us to see too.
We will be looking to send my daughter in the New Year too.

Our daughters both go to Shooting Star and feel like it’s a home from home. They are really happy, and all EYFS guidelines and reports are followed. The team does a good job at preparing kids for school and through all key milestones. Would definitely recommend.

My daughter attended this nursery for 18-months until she started reception. She loved going to Shooting Stars every morning and spending time with aunty. She learned something new every day, and she was so ready for reception when the time came. Great environment for your loved ones.

Brilliant setting. I can’t thank Shooting Star staff enough. Our two boys joined the setting a year ago. They get the best care. I’m never stressed. They’re always happy when they leave, and I receive, every day, daily updates on what my kids doing. They also can pick your kids up in case you have two
nurseries. Overall, I highly recommend Shooting Star. Thank you, ladies, for looking and providing the best care for my kids!

The team at Shooting Star Childcare looked after my son from when he was 20-months up until he started school. He was always very happy in the setting and thrived in his development during his time there. The team really make the setting feel welcoming and caring whilst remaining professional in their
responsibilities. Adorably, my son is adamant that all babies should go to Auntie's before they start school! As a parent, I miss the positive and accommodating attitude of the team; they made it easy to entrust my child to them. I highly recommend them.

The team at Shooting Star Childcare are professional; children are always happy with a wide variety of activities planned each day. Children are able to enjoy lessons from outsourced professionals (music, French, phonics) as well as participating in baking!
My son was 9-months-old with allergies when
he first attended; they took extra care of him, we could not be happier. The communication between parents and carers are excellent; we always know what he is up to with great details.
The premise is safe, modern and clean, with lots of stimulus for children. Outdoor activities in the garden are always well planned out, and the children love that.
We have confidence in recommending Shooting Star Childcare to people and have done so for many of our friends in the area.

My 3-year-old son has attended this setting since he was around 10-months-old. The childminder and assistants were all so warm and welcoming; he loved going in and playing with them and the other children and loved the food. Would happily recommend this setting to others.

We have had the best experience at Shooting Star Childcare. My son joined after having quite a negative experience at his previous nursery, and he couldn’t have been happier here. It has an incredibly welcoming and warm environment. We had daily reports on what he was doing and eating, etc. Developmentally,
he progressed so much whilst attending there. His speech and language really came along, which was amazing, as my son has delayed speech. All the staff are professional and warm, and I instantly felt at ease leaving him there, which is a huge relief for any parent. I couldn’t recommend this setting enough, brilliant.

We sent our daughter to Shooting Star for a year, and they were absolutely brilliant with her. She benefited from the attention and care they showed, learnt a lot and made lots of friends. We sadly had to leave due to a home relocation, but wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other parents.
