Situated between Epsom Town and Downs this beautiful Nursery forms an integral part of a happy, successful Pre-Prep for boys and girls aged two and a half to seven.

St Christopher's was a finalist in the Independent Schools Association Awards 2025 for 'Excellence and Innovation in Early Years', shortlisted in the Independent School of the Year Awards 2024 and declared by the Independent Schools Association to be the winner of the Independent Junior School in the country in 2020.

The outstanding Nursery provision is created by the spacious setting, both indoors and outdoors, led by a qualified Teacher, supported by seven talented Early Years Practitioners and Nursery Assistants.

As specialists in Early Years provision, the staff create irresistible activities on a daily basis in a tailor-made environment that encourages and supports independent learning. Nursery children develop skills and talents beyond their years with impressive results following the nursery's focus on learning through play.

The Nursery children benefit from a spacious six area free-flow setting complete with two Interactive Whiteboards and an impressive child-size kitchen in daily use in a cheerful light and airy accommodation with direct access to the beautiful grounds.

Funding & Fees Guide for St Christopher's School and Nursery

  • Our fees are charged on a termly basis.
    Termly full time fees from September 2024 are £4,480 with an additional charge for wrap around care. Please contact the school office for further information.


  • Our nursery offers 3 session options; Morning: 8.30am – 12.00pm, Extended morning 8.30am - 1.30pm and Day: 8.30am – 3.00, all sessions include a morning snack and a freshly cooked lunch is included in the extended morning and full day. We also have additional wrap around care of Larks from 7.45am -8.30am and Owls 3.00pm – 6.00pm.


  • Parking
  • Prospective parents can park in the staff car park on Downs Road, subject to a space being available.
    The neighbouring road, Chartwell Place has some parking restrictions, but these do not impede normal nursery and school drop off and collection times. These parking restrictions are in place Monday to Friday from 10am-11am and 1.45pm-2.45pm.

My son joined St Christopher's School and Nursery at age of 2 and half. The nursery teachers and all school staff made him feel welcome. They helped him built confidence and train him for good manner. The school provided plenty of means for making parents easily to communicate with your child's teacher.
They also focus on your own child's developing progress, supporting with their learning in their own pace. Also it must be mentioned for the wonderful PTA team. The parents also get lots of chances to chat and make friends with each other. I can't say enough how my son and our family loved St Christopher's.

Brilliant Nursery. Unbelievable staff who are all so friendly. Our boy is so so happy there he absolutely loves it! He's never not wanted to go in and the variety of activities and learning they do is brilliant.

What a wonderful environment for children. My daughter was attending another local day nursery, and I always felt that she was being held back. Since being part of St Christopher's, she has really progressed and flourished. Her confidence has grown so much.
The permanent staff, and those who come in
weekly for sessions (e.g. music, art) are kind, considerate and really helped to settle my daughter. Highly recommend it. One point: holiday clubs would be helpful!

I can honestly say St.Christophers is the most beautiful, supportive, caring and incredible school & nursery. Our daughter has settled so well and every morning asks to go and gets so excited which is a testament to how wonderful it is.

I've had two children at St Christopher's nursery. One of whom is there currently and another who now attends the main school.
We've only positive things to say about everyone connected with the nursery (and wider school). The staff, nursery staff and wider school staff, are so friendly and supportive,
both to our children and to us as parents.
My youngest, who started in the nursery this academic year, is now asking to go full time - despite loving the other setting they attends which I think is testament to how settled and secure they feel at St Christopher's.
The opportunities the children have from nursery to participate in wider school activities - from poetry learning to the school pancake race - makes them feel part of the school community from the outset.
My eldest is now in the main school and thanks to their time in the nursery has formed strong friendships within their year and in the years above and below.

Our son has been attending St. Christopher School since he was 2.5 years old, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From the very beginning, the teachers and staff have been warm, nurturing, and incredibly supportive.

I am absolutely heartbroken by the way St Christopher has treated my daughter and our family. After we enrolled her, she was removed from the nursery without any warning or adequate explanation. The lack of communication and care from the staff, particularly the manager, has been incredibly distressing.
It's
clear the school is unwilling to put in the effort for a child who needs a little more attention. This has been a devastating experience for me, and I would strongly advise other parents to think twice before enrolling their children here.

We secured a place for our daughter at St Christopher a year in advance, believing it to be a supportive environment. However, after joining, we were told she was being removed after only a few weeks because she needed more attention than other children. This came as a shock, as we had provided all
relevant information from the start, which should have prompted a proper assessment. At a meeting with the headteacher, we were reassured that the school would accommodate our daughter, even offering reduced hours. Days later, we received an email confirming her removal, with no further communication.
It's clear that the staff at St Christopher are unwilling to make the effort for children who need extra attention. This experience has left us scrambling for an alternative school and raises serious concerns about the nursery's inclusivity and commitment to all children. We are deeply disappointed by how this was handled.

My son has been at St Christopher's School and Nursery since September 2022 and I cannot recommend this school enough. They are attentive, communicate fantastically, are enthusiastic and foster an environment full of learning and independence. I wish more schools would provide the range of activities
they have here. My son is so happy here and I feel happy and comfortable leaving him in the care of his wonderful teachers. You can visit this school at any day/time and they have the same enthusiasm and energy every time. I have no idea how they do it but I know that I will feel so lost as to where to send him after year 2! Every parent that I have spoken to says their child is thriving here and I am so pleased I can say the same about mine.

Laura Fisher

Job Title: Deputy Head and Lead Nursery Teacher

Joined: 2018

Laura initially joined St Christopher’s as a Reception Class Teacher moving to her current role as Lead Nursery Teacher taking the high expectations of her children with her. She is a talented teacher with 12 years of experience having qualified with a BA (Hons) in primary teaching.
Teaching Early Years is not just a job for Laura but a passion. Her approachable and empathetic nature, as well as being a mum of 3, makes Laura perfect for this role. Laura is committed to providing an engaging and inspiring environment which allows the young children space to develop personal resilience, independence and confidence.

Mrs Grehan joined St Christopher’s as the new Headteacher in September 2022 and continues to see the Nursery and Pre-Prep school go from strength to strength.
