The nursery always go above and beyond for my daughters who attend. The care the staff provide to my children is exceptional, this is consistent throughout all rooms and staff, from key persons, room leaders, kitchen team to the management team, they always do this with a smile on their face. The activities
planned have had a huge impact on my daughters development and skills, both my children nave made huge progress since joining the nursery. I can't thank them enough!

Our son loves this nursery! All of the staff are so welcoming, friendly and caring. There is a great range of activities daily in the classroom and garden areas. The children have also enjoyed trips out which is a nice experience for them. It's good to have a key worker who looks after him so well and
all the team are brilliant.

Our son has been at Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Orpington since he was one and he is about to leave for primary school with so many skills, talents, ideas and happy memories. The staff are incredibly professional, compassionate and knowledgable and the success of the nursery and the children is absolutely
down to the commitment shown every day by the management team. Parent opinions and ideas are listened to and actioned and there are lots of ways parents can get involved. We absolutely made the best choice for our son.

My son has absolutely loved his time at Monkey Puzzle Day Nursing so far! From the settling in sessions to the daily activities, meals, Parents' Evenings and special events, so much care and thought is put into what they provide. It was important to us that our son received the love, fun and nurturing
that he would at home. We've loved both of his key workers, and the staff, in general, are just phenomenal.

I have two children at the nursery and they love it there!
The staff are amazing and passionate about what they are doing with a great management team who inspire them. The care they receive while there is great and I've always been confident about leaving them there.
Equipment is updated on a regular
basis and they have great external experts coming in to help the child where needed.
I would recommend it to anyone.

This is an excellent nursery. Wonderful and friendly staff, very professional, clean and modern and always striving to improve for the children they care for. As a mum I feel well informed on my sons days and development and I can really see how much he gets from being there. Highly recommend!

My daughter started at Monkey Puzzle around 6 months ago, and she absolutely loves it, she settled in amazingly and feels completely at home with all the staff. I have been so impressed with how the nursery is run, all the staff are so friendly and easy to talk to, and whenever I pick my daughter up
she’s engaged in something different, she’s not once looked bored or upset, the food offered is varied and healthy, and they really put an emphasis on getting the kids out to the garden space which is great! I love how involved I feel in my daughter's time there, with detailed updates throughout the day about how she’s eating and sleeping, as well as regular uploads of photos of what she’s been doing. Overall I really recommended this nursery, and will be very sad to leave when my daughter moves on to school!

My daughter has been at Monkey Puzzle for nearly a year. She loves going to nursery and has built up fantastic relationships with the staff. They constantly challenge and encourage her to learn new skills. The garden space is a particular asset for the nursery, especially in the warmer months.

The best Nursery, my child has developed a lot since he came here. At first he was crying because he didn't know anyone, especially since every day he was only with me, but now he is happy and eager to come there

My sons have been at Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Orpington for over six months now and I have found it to be an outstanding nursery. I work in education myself and have found the standards at Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Orpington to be so high in terms of everything from safeguarding to encouraging the
children to thrive in any way they can. My two are so loved, cared for and are lucky to have such an incredible team supporting them. The manager is an exceptional leader with such great attention to detail and care for the children. We were previously with a childminder and it is the best thing we ever did moving them to this environment. A huge thank you to everyone who supports my sons, too many amazing staff to mention individually.

My 2-year-old son hadn’t previously attended a nursery or a childminder and had only been looked after by either myself, my husband or my mum. I was very anxious for him to start in a nursery setting, but after looking around at the friendly, modern and creative environment at Monkey Puzzle we decided
to try it and started a 2 week settling in session. There were of course, the classic parental guilt moments during this time, but the staff were so friendly and helpful (and even obliged my phone calls after half an hour of dropping him off to update and reassure me!) He settled by December and before I knew it instead of clinging onto me and crying during drop-offs, he was letting go of my hand and running into nursery! The staff really strive to create a true partnership with us and help towards any developmental issues we may have. Any issues we have they do their utmost towards helping us (i.e. speech development) they say it takes a village to raise a child after all!

My 1-year-old son has had a very positive experience of settling in at Monkey Puzzle Orpington. The staff are really friendly, the building has just been refurbished and feels really nice and modern and I like the fact that there is a garden at the back. He gets to do lots of creative things which are
more difficult to do at home and loves being with other children. We get a full update on how he's got on at the end of every day. Highly recommended.

We have been so impressed with the nursery since our daughter has started to attend. She was one of the first children to join when the nursery first opened. They were welcoming, knowledgeable and experienced.
Our main caregiver is friendly and approachable and seems to really care for our daughter.
But all of the staff have been excellent. They all care about their job and the children they look after.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.387)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.387) out of 10 for Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Orpington is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.771 for Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Orpington is calculated as follows: ( (37 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.771

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.616 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Orpington is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 83 number of registered child places is 16.6. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 16.6 = 0.241

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

The nursery is owned by local businessman Arlind Marku, who graduated from Middlesex University in 2007 with a BA Hons in Business Studies and Italian. Since graduating he has run a number of family businesses, always with the intention of returning back to his dream of owning a children’s day nursery. Arlind was always aspired “to own a nursery that is full of happiness and joy, creating an environment where children can thrive”.

He grew up with very strong family values where children’s upbringing and education was always paramount. “I believe that a child’s successful journey starts from very early education so it was extremely important for me to choose sites which provide the best settings for children to have enjoyable and fun learning experiences”.
I enjoy using my business knowledge and passion for children to support our team and improve the opportunities for our children. I am a firm believer that children are our future and we must give them an understanding of how powerful, important, valuable and perfect they are.” I am now extremely excited to be embracing the challenge of opening our third nursery and creating another wonderful setting within the local community of Orpington. Keeping children safe and happy alongside meeting and developing their needs will always be at the forefront of what we promote and value as a team.
