Stockport Grammar School's Nursery offers exceptional nursery education. Children can start in the Nursery from the term after their third birthday.

They provide a supportive, happy and stimulating environment with full-time qualified teachers and outstanding facilities. The busy, exciting and varied programme also includes specialist Music, Modern Foreign Languages, Dance and PE sessions, along with weekly swimming lessons in the school pool.

The state-of-the-art Nursery building opened its doors in 2021. Situated in the grounds of the Junior School, there is an exciting play area, forest area and an eco-friendly living green roof.

Education is overseen by qualified and experienced teachers and Nursery assistants, who work with the children to encourage them to explore, discover and learn.

Staff enjoy positive relationships with both children and parents as they work together to ensure that they deliver the best possible care and education.

Parents are always welcome to visit the Nursery, and there are plenty of opportunities to be involved in Nursery activities and to come and see the children in action.

It's an amazing learning environment, full of engaging and extra curriculum activities. My little one is really thrilled, enjoying especially the wild forest garden and the Library. I couldn't ask for anything more for her education.
The staff is already friendly, happy, helping, professional and
really understanding.
It's a Nursery school indeed and not just a Daycare Nursery. Children are really learning, enjoying and preparing themselves for Reception class, feeling comfortable and totally ready for the transition.
I'd totally recommended it.

I cannot rate Stockport Grammar School Nursery enough. The staff there are exceptionally kind, calm, and nurturing and the activities they have planned daily for the students have been brilliant. Outdoor learning and forest school, amazing playgrounds, and clubs for the children as well as fabulous
themed days such as Elf School and visiting tractors and farm animals.
In addition, the amount my child learned and engaged with the learning of early phonics and numeracy was amazing. She has left the nursery absolutely ready to begin Reception; it was an obvious choice for our daughter to stay there in Reception given how much she had loved the nursery and much transition work is done to bridge the gap between Nursery and Reception. If you're after a nursery that treats that pre school year as not only a place to provide amazing care and nurture your child, but also has high expectations for their academic progress then I can't recommend it enough.

We have been absolutely thrilled with the nursery at Stockport Grammar. The staff are exceptional, and the facilities are outstanding in terms of variety and quality.
Our son has gone from strength to strength as a result of the variety of opportunities, varied and extensive learning experiences, and
dedication of the staff.
Regular feedback from the staff on our son's progress, alongside always finding time to listen to queries, has been appreciated.
The setting leaves our son more than ready for the transition to school, and this has been further enhanced by the integration with Reception in the second half of the academic year which was focused and well thought out.
We couldn't have found anywhere better.

We are incredibly grateful for everything the nursery teachers have done for our little girl. As parents, we couldn't be more thankful to you all. It has been a joy to watch our daughter grow during her time in the nursery. You have treated her as your own and helped her build confidence like no other.
She absolutely loves coming to school and sharing her experiences with all of you.
The small gestures, like sending her a gift and card post-surgery, and dropping off her Mother's Day card when she was ill, were unbelievably kind and went above and beyond our expectations.
The nursery is a safe environment where kids learn respect and kindness. Exposure to free play, arts and crafts, role-play, music, swimming, PE, and other activities has given the children an amazing head start for reception. We feel privileged that our daughter enjoyed 5 months in nursery.

My daughter has been attending Stockpot Grammar Pre-Reception since January this year and is thoroughly loving it. Every day she comes home happy and content. The teaching staff are excellent and provide the highest standard of care. There is a wide range of activities delivered including maths, English,
music and French. Under normal circumstances, and prior to Covid, she participated in weekly swimming lessons. Since starting Pre-Reception our daughter has come on leaps and bounds. I would highly recommend this facility.

My daughter was given the option to commence Pre Reception as soon as she turned 3. As a parent, I was naturally anxious but the team were fantastic. The support and nurture provided to my daughter was amazing. She settled in with no issues. My daughter has progressed academically as well as in her
confidence and independence. She loves school. Her attitude to learning is great and it isn’t just about reading and writing. They learn through play, exploration and because learning is made so much fun by the teachers. The teachers take extra special care with my daughter's dietary needs. The teachers are so responsive to us as parents, they are very approachable. The best decision we made.

Stockport Grammar Pre-Reception is fantastic. The staff are extremely friendly, and the quality of the teaching and care provided is outstanding. Our daughter loves going to Pre-Reception and comes home very happy, eager to share her daily experiences with us. The children benefit from a very broad
range of subjects including ICT, French, Music, PE, Phonics and Maths with significant time for learning through play, crucial at this age. But before Covid-19, they would also swim every week. The staff develop a sense of curiosity in the children, to assist their learning, and encourage the children to be kind to others.
The Pre-Reception benefits from being a spacious, self-contained building situated in the extensive grounds, so the children have access to all of the school's fantastic facilities. Wrap around care is available as there is a welcoming Breakfast and After School Club.

Amazing teachers and support staff. My daughter thrived and loved going in. She made the transition into Reception seamlessly thanks to the nursery staff. During the lockdown, they provided a ton of support materials and activities to keep us busy and to not fall behind in her learning journey. Her
handwriting is excellent, and her reading is coming on very well. This is due to the skills she was taught and the foundation she was given in nursery. Thank you!

Staff are very caring and friendly. They always provide great information about children’s progress. My child was looked after properly and thought very well while at pre-reception, and he was always happy to go to school to see his friends and teachers.
