The Nature Garden Childcare provides children with the opportunity to spend time outdoors and to build a close relationship with nature.

Through continuous exploration and play in two natural learning environments, children are supported to become self-reliant as they develop their creative skills.

The nursery provides a tailored curriculum based on nature and each child's personal discoveries. Nature guides learning through the seasons, and children spend time with contemporary literature indoors before venturing outside to use what they have learnt to explore the world around them.

My child attended for three and a half years to which he fully enjoyed every session. The nursery became a second home where he was nurtured and grew in confident and his social and emotional development. The staff were fantastic along with the environment indoors and outdoors. The activities were highly
thought out to develop learning and skills and my child developed beautifully. As a parent, I can not recommend a nursery more highly, the care, learning and happiness of my child shone daily.

The setting seems a very intimate and nurturing environment with an emphasis on outside play and outdoor activities related to growing vegetables, general gardening and caring for the bunnies and guinea pig. Staff seem to understand the personalities and needs of each child and adapt activities accordingly,
such as woodwork, phonics, arts and crafts etc. depending on their preferences. The food served is homemade and health-conscious. Storytime is a daily occurrence and at times some Spanish, mainly through songs. In general, we have had a very positive experience and would highly recommend the nursery as an excellent start to learning.

It's fabulous! My son has been coming here for nearly a year now and loves it. Staff are great with him. I love all the bits they get up to. I love that they have some animals to feed and they plant and eat their own veg where possible, my boy's favourite is woodwork.

I could not have found a more perfect place to send my daughter. The environment is amazing and nurturing to my child's needs. My daughter's teacher is one a kind and my daughter is developing brilliantly since coming to The Nature Garden.

Our son loves his time at The Nature Garden every week. Since attending his growth and development in regards to awareness, counting, speaking, and more has accelerated. As parents, we have the daily emails and photos, as well as our son's personal growth report that the staff complete as it gives us
such an insight into our son's time here and how much he loves it.

Our child attends The Nature Garden for two mornings per week and really enjoys her time there. The setting is beautifully designed with inspirational and intriguing toys, displays and activities. My child has been exposed to lots of different types of literature, and the themed story box is always
filled with exciting props to help tell the story. Activities include role play, painting, mask making and den building to name a few. The garden is as lovely as the main room with an allotment and animals, as well as garden toys, a water cascade, a swing, a house and a mud kitchen. The children are encouraged to play outside in all weathers in puddle suits and wellies, which are provided. As a family, we have enjoyed eating fruits and vegetables, which our child has helped to grow at The Nature Garden. Snacks and lunch are always healthy and homemade, and often my child comes home with extra homemade cake or biscuits! At the end of every day, The Nature Garden sends us a personalised email updating us on what our child has done in that session, what they've enjoyed, any problems and an update on what has or has not been eaten. Attached to the email are always a few lovely photographs of our child during the sessions. Our child could not be happier, and we are so pleased with The Nature Garden provision.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.000)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.000) out of 10 for The Nature Garden Childcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.875 for The Nature Garden Childcare is calculated as follows: ( (22 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.875

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.125 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Nature Garden Childcare is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 9 number of registered child places is 1.8, which has been reached with 2 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
