My daughter has come on leaps and bounds since joining this nursery. Her confidence has grown tremendously. The staff are so friendly, considerate and on the ball. My daughter loves going to this nursery and gets so excited about attending and that's down to the staff making it a fantastic environment
for children.

My firstborn joined when he was just 2 and a half years old, amidst all the pandemic drama, and he is now in year one at primary school. I was very nervous to send him, especially as we had just had another baby. The staff at YMCA Hurst Hill are literal diamonds! He absolutely flourished and I will
cherish all the love and care he had at this nursery. It was such an easy decision to then send his brother as he grew older. His brother, a lockdown baby, is the polar opposite and can be quite anxious however he has blossomed so much and has grown his cheeky character from strength to strength. Recently he has been diagnosed with coeliac disease and the nursery has been so accommodating to adapting their usual routines with him, and we are so grateful. He is due to start primary school in a few months but we won't be saying goodbye just yet as the boy's little sister is due to start soon when I return from maternity leave.
Couldn't rate them more. Like family to our family.

I am delighted to share my positive experience with the nursery where my twin boys have been enrolled for almost two years. The nursery has played a crucial role in the development of my boys, as they have not only learned to identify colours and objects but can also read large words now. This remarkable
progress is a testament to the dedicated educators and the nurturing environment provided by the nursery.
I must also commend the manager of the nursery for her exceptional understanding and support during challenging times. When my family faced financial constraints and had to reduce the attendance of my boys at the nursery, the manager was incredibly empathetic and worked with us to find a solution that aligned with our needs.
Overall, I am immensely grateful to the nursery for their outstanding care, education, love and support for my boys. I highly recommend this nursery to any parent seeking a nurturing and supportive educational setting for their little ones.

My 4-year-old has been attending this nursery since she was 2 years old. I have always found the staff approachable and the standard of care here very high. My little one has been well cared for and she has really enjoyed her time at this nursery. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Wonderful nursery.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.528)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.528) out of 10 for YMCA @ Hurst Hill is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.778 for YMCA @ Hurst Hill is calculated as follows: ( (28 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.778

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for YMCA @ Hurst Hill is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 number of registered child places is 6. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 6 = 0.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
