Blue Sky Day Nursery opened in the heart of Pocklington in April 2021. Blue Sky Day Nursery is part of a small group of local, family owned and run day nurseries. They first opened in 2005 in Market Weighton and have been going from strength to strength ever since.

Blue Sky promise to care for your child as if they were their own.

This is their ethos and underpins everything they offer you and your child. They believe in working with the parents of children in order to create the best childcare for your child. They are really lucky to have an amazing team of loving, caring, professionals who uphold the promise and more.

Flexibility is key and they understand the difficulties in balancing being a parent with running a home, work and other commitments.

Their aim is to offer childcare that is not only of the highest quality but fits what you need.

My twin daughters have attended Blue Sky Pocklington for the past year. I am very happy with the service that Blue Sky provide. They offer a balanced and varied programme of activities to support and encourage the development of my daughters and do so in a warm and caring environment. I am always provided
with a comprehensive overview of the activities they have undertaken each day and the food they have eaten. Most important of all, my daughters are very happy and enjoy their time at nursery.

Our daughter has been at Blue Sky Day Nursery a couple of months and we have been pleased with her progress so far. The staff are always welcoming on drop off and collection and seem to engage well with our daughter. They provide a variety of activities each day which are fun and educational.

Our daughter loves going to preschool at Blue Sky and always has a fun time doing different activities. The location of the nursery is so convenient and also enables the staff to take the children out and about in the community as well as enjoying activities within the setting. The staff are all lovely
and take a real interest in the children showing great care for their needs whilst also being professional and helpful. Blue Sky is a lovely, warm, down-to-earth ‘family feel’ nursery that I would definitely recommend!

My little boy has been attending Blue Sky for the last 2 years now and I cannot fault Blue Sky at all. When he first started nursery it was a massive change for him and he sobbed at the door most mornings, I nearly decided nursery maybe wasn’t for him yet and to take him out, however one member of staff
in particular reassured me that once he was in nursery he was absolutely fine which filled me with confidence. Since the little hiccup at the start he loves going, he has come on leaps and bounds since starting, and he’s where he should be for everything thanks to the nursery girls. The nursery is always clean and tidy, the other children always look happy to be there and the different range of activities that they do is lovely to see. If I ever have any queries two particular members of staff are quick to reply through emails and help me out.

Since my little girl has started, she has come on leaps and bounds! She enjoys going every week, they’ve really helped her come out of her shell. She’s never liked being left without me, she is very clingy but settled into nursery like she had always been there! They’ve made my daughter and both her
parents feel so welcome and cared for in this setting. All staff are so kind, even when I’ve been ditsy and are always there for any questions I have.

The staff at Blue Sky Day Nursery have taken excellent care of both our children (eldest 2018-2023, youngest 2020 to date). They give daily feedback on how our children are getting on each day, e.g. eating, activities, development etc. The kids are always happy and eager to go (the eldest wishes she
was able to still go, despite being of school age) and reluctant to leave, which is a testament to the quality of care provided. They provide opportunities to venture into the local community and give bespoke support for children with additional needs, e.g. specific learning activities, sensory experiences. I would highly recommend the Blue Sky Nursery.

Our 4-year-old loves preschool at Blue Sky Day Nursery! He’s always really happy to go in when I drop him off and he comes home really happy. We always get a good review of his day and he always talks highly of the staff and the other children that attend. He loves it.

All staff are good. Most are brilliant. Location is perfect. Only downfalls are no app for updates and due to no industrial bin, dirty nappies are sent home with the children. They were brilliant with transitioning my child up an age group. She didn’t settle at first so they made this a staged transition.

All the staff are extremely attentive to our child’s/family's needs. My son runs through the door of a morning, he loves all the staff members and I feel they all care for him extremely well.
The food is balanced, the nursery is on the smaller side but that never seems to interfere with activities
or safety.
I’m extremely satisfied with the care my son receives.

The staff are always friendly, kind and approachable. The ethos that they care for the children as though they are their own is upheld at all times.
Both my girls enjoyed their days at nursery, my oldest has just started school, my youngest daughter comes home and tells me that she's had a lovely time
and has enjoyed the activities.
As a parent, I know I can relax knowing my child is having a nice time and being well looked after when she is at nursery.

Blue Sky Day Nursery is a lovely, child-centred setting in Pocklington. My son has transitioned from a previous nursery very well. The staff are polite and friendly and have allowed my little boy to flourish. I highly recommend.

My son attends Blue Sky Pocklington and has for over a year now. He’s always been very well looked after and I’ve always found excellent communication between staff and myself. They also allow adhoc day bookings which is so helpful when you work shifts or varied days. The staff always have a good understanding
of how my son’s day has been when I pick him up and we also get written feedback in a little booklet. Security is thorough and I feel my son is very safe in their care. They plan and deliver fun activities which he enjoys and I get to see photos of what he’s been doing. He’s been very happy since attending, has made some friends and enjoys his time there.

Excellent experience with my youngest. The nursery has always communicated well with us and I feel has my son's best interests at heart. They support and discuss any ongoing issues and events. (Currently potty training) and my boy is always happy when coming out! Smiles are the best reviews!

Really happy with everything that Blue Sky Day Nursery do for my little boy. He always loves attending and has come on in leaps and bounds in development which a lot is down to the amazing staff within the nursery. The management team are always more than helpful and I’ve never had any issues at all.
