Established in 1968, Southover Pre-School is a long-standing and well-respected pre-school located in the leafy, lush grounds of Old Finchleians Sports Club in the Woodside Park area of North London.

Children benefit from having access to the large playing fields and learning through play in everything that they do. One of the key aims of the setting is to form strong relationships with families to ensure each child's individual learning style and talents are recognised and supported.

Each child has a key person who goes above and beyond to provide engaging and enriching learning opportunities to help them develop their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.

Southover Pre-School has been an excellent choice for my daughter. It has an excellent set of staff who has been flexible and accommodative to our requests. This was the first time our daughter went to a school and was staying away from home. We need not have worried, as the many activities and play
space Southover has completely engaged our daughter from day one. Over time, we could see she took a real liking to the school. Me and my wife are grateful that we chose Southover Pre-School and would highly recommend it. Our daughter enjoys many activities like a drama class, baking class, drawing and many more.

I was nervous at first with my 3-year-old son, who came back from India after a year and a half lockdown, unable to speak in English, never played with any children before. Having met the manager, I was relieved. She is kind, understanding, passionate and professional, and she genuinely cares about
children and their well-being. She ensured me that she would take good care of my son, and I have no doubt, and I can say after nearly a month, my son is happy and improving. The staff at Southover are caring, kind, cooperative and professional, which is what I was looking for. I’m happy I have chosen Southover; keep up the good work, girls!

Hello,
My name is Mrs Sayed and I have been the Principal of Southover Pre-school for the past 20 years.


I have a great passion to work alongside children and help them to unfold their learning capabilities.


It is fascinating how children progress and develop during their formative years.


We are fortunate enough to have a lot of outdoor space and one of our core beliefs is to have mixed aged groups, where younger children learn from older children, and the older children learn to look after their younger peers, which I believe is a primary aspect of learning amongst many that we try and yield.


Southover Pre-School has one of the largest outdoor areas amongst local schools, facilitating their physical development and social skills, assisting in their gross motor skills and fine motor skills.


We are a friendly team and look forward to answering any questions you may have.

I am the curriculum leader at Southover Nursery.


I provide professional support and guidance to the rest of the team as well as report back to the principal with progress and any issues. I put the correct provisions and support in place to ensure that children receive the best possible care. I take the lead in directing and guiding nursery staff to deliver children's activities in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and with defined local policies and regulations.

My main responsibility is to deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children under the age of 5 years. My priority is to work closely with the children, care for them, and guide and support them in their day-to-day life at the nursery.
