Tysoe Children's Group is open to all children aged 18 months to 4 years, they offer a range of year-round services to meet the needs of families in the local community and those of the surrounding towns and villages. They work in partnership with families to provide the best possible educational experiences for all the children in their care.

Set in the refurbished Old Fire Station in the heart of Tysoe village, they are surrounded by beautiful open green space. They provide a safe environment, rich with opportunities both indoors and outdoors and the nursery is fortunate to have a large secure outdoor play area and a separate woodland school. They also have a dedicated chef onsite providing nutritious hot meals at lunch and dinner times.

In the day nursery, they offer a warm and welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery, into the pre-school and then onto school. Underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage they provide all-day care for children from 18 months to 5 years.

The nursery has a child led curriculum which offers a varied and exciting programme of indoor and outdoor educational experiences. The nursey also welcomes Humming Bee Music and Mini Athletics once a week, as well as providing older children the opportunity to visit Badgers Wood for forest school sessions - your child will always find something to get involved in.

The setting is run by a highly skilled and enthusiastic team of staff, the majority of whom have worked with the group for many years. Tysoe Children’s Group is a charity managed by a dedicated team of parent and community Trustees, and is an Ofsted Good Provider (November 2022).

Fantastic nursery that my child has attended for 18 months. Staff are kind and caring. Activities take place inside and outside and vary all the time. Amazing offer of additional activities including forest school, mini athletics and music lessons all included in the price. My child loves Tysoe Childrens
Group. She has made great friends and loves going in every day.

My child has been with Tysoe Children's Group for the past 2 years and loves her time there. The staff, without exception, are amazing with her. The Sparks room, especially, have the most caring team. Flames is very much more of a school type setting which is important for their transition ready for
school. They spend a lot of time outside and have a great forest school programme which was very important to us. We viewed a number of "corporate" nurseries that were clearly just there to make money. Tysoe Childrens Group is a family and we are very lucky and proud to be part of it.

My daughter has been at the setting for just over two years and has been her best few years! The staff are all lovely and have helped us with toilet training to prepare her for school in September. My daughter always comes out very happy and has a great bond with the members of staff. The nursery itself
is fantastic, with so much for the children to do whilst learning through play. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I have two children who have just started here. The manager and the team really took their time to help with settling in, which made all the difference.
Their commitment to the forest school is also unique and a real bonus. Both children can’t wait to go in, which speaks volumes.

Our son has been at this nursery since he was 18-months, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care he has received. The staff are warm, nurturing and supportive and have a very obvious bond with the children in their care. Even though our son had mainly been at home due to lockdowns when he started,
he settled quickly and happily trotted in waving goodbye! The nursery offers forest school, which he loves and is really accommodating and flexible. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the setting to other parents.

My child has been at this nursery for well over a year now and I can't speak highly enough of the nursery. The standout thing is the staff, the staff team is consistent, with no high turnover that we previously experienced at a different nursery. The staff are kind and genuinely caring for the kids
as individuals. Now three years old, my child has started going to the forest school session that is built-in on Thursdays which is wonderful. I also love the nursery's ethos and how flexible they are for families, making it easier to find the right pattern of childcare that works. I love their wraparound care for the primary school too, and their holiday club options, because both my children are happy there and I know and trust they will have a great time. Finally, the nursery has been heroically reliable throughout the pandemic and despite the challenges, it has never closed, not even for a single day. I am enormously grateful to have such a fantastic nursery for my children to attend.

My daughter has been at Tysoe Childrens Group Ltd for just over 15-months. An excellent nursery with caring, thoughtful and forward-thinking staff, in an awesome environment in the middle of the countryside. My little girl has grown in confidence loads since attending here and comes home from nursery
learning something new every time! I am so glad that we have a setting like Tysoe Childrens Group Ltd available in our local area and fully recommend it to all parents and parents to be.

A fantastic nursery and before and after school club in a lovely rural setting. My two children attend and feel safe and supported by the helpful staff. They have weekly Forest School which is held in a Woodland within walking distance and is thoroughly enjoyed. Fully catered with a varied menu, including
a hot meal served for lunch which is great for little one’s hungry tummies! Close to the primary school which really helped my eldest one with their transition. Emails and calls are responded to quickly.

My daughter has been attending this nursery since she was 18 months old and I couldn't rate it highly enough. The staff have supported our daughter through key milestones such as learning to walk, potty training, and now preparing for starting school. Every single member of staff has done this with
kindness and understanding and has been an absolute rock for our family, especially during the pandemic.

Both my boys have been at this nursery since they were 18months old. They have all been incredible. They have given a huge amount of support to my eldest son who has traits of autism and finds certain situations difficult. They understand his needs and adapt accordingly. Both boys love walking through
the door and report a very happy day always. The manager is very compassionate and supports us as a family in being flexible and approachable every step of the way.

Our son moved nurseries in September, he has settled in really well, he loves his time at Tysoe and runs in every morning with a huge smile on his face. My daughter also uses the walking bus from the local school to the after school club, which she really enjoys, each day she comes out with a new picture
or craft. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.

My eldest son attended this setting for 3 years, and my youngest son is currently in his last year here before he starts school. The care and attention each child gets from the hard-working staff here is second to none. They have a strong link with Tysoe Primary School offering a walking bus service
to their after school club. I highly recommend this setting. My son is currently thriving here. He is safe, happy and his confidence has come on leaps and bounds.

I only have good things to say about this nursery. Both of my sons have attended since 18-months-old. I have received nothing but the best care from every staff member. Both of my kids love it and even class the teachers as their friends!

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.505)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.505) out of 10 for Tysoe Childrens Group Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.889 for Tysoe Childrens Group Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (32 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.889

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.616 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tysoe Childrens Group Ltd is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 number of registered child places is 8.2. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.2 = 0.366

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
