Little Forest Folk was established to give children the chance to grow up with a sense of awe and freedom as part of their everyday lives. The nursery connects children back to nature, inspiring them to live a naturally healthy lifestyle that builds resilience, confidence, independence and self-motivation – all the tools they need for a happy and successful life!

The nursery is lucky to have their outside space with the indoor setting, which means they have some wonderful opportunities on site, including an exciting fire pit, log circle, tree swing and a fantastic mud kitchen – little ones can also often be found growing their own produce in their forest vegetable garden, or taking adventure walks to nearby green spaces. Features also include toilets, nappy changing facilities and handwashing stations. Napping is also possible at this setting for those children who need a rest after the morning’s adventures!

Full Day children arrive at Little Forest Folk Morden for a hearty breakfast before being joined in the forest by their Sessional Day friends for a day filled with adventure. Children dress for the day in their waterproofs which allows them to enjoy an array of sensory exploration, surrounded by nature. Meals include snacks (am & pm) and lunch, which are all enjoyed in the forest. Sessional children head home after afternoon snack time, whilst Full Day children stay on for more playtime, plus a nutritious homemade dinner.

The nursery delivers the full EYFS curriculum with a focus on natural, child led play. Forest adventures are delivered with a strict 1:4 ratio for all ages and at all times - allowing the team to provide the highest standard of care and education, with the safety of little ones being paramount.

The nursery is currently rated GOOD by OFSTED (May 2023).

We feel extremely grateful that our children have the opportunity to attend Little Forest Folk Morden. The staff and management team are so caring, compassionate and responsive (in a calm and receptive manner) to the needs of the children. The outdoor space allows the children to climb, swing, and explore,
and inspires imaginative play and creativity. We highly recommend Little Forest Folk!

Our son has been at Little Forest Folk for 2 years and has absolutely flourished during his time there. The staff are so kind, caring and supportive of each child, really going the extra mile to get to know each one as an individual.
Being outdoors in nature is a huge advantage for young kids and
having that opportunity has meant my son's creativity and problem-solving skills have increased, along with his confidence. I think they managed to find a great balance between free play and also teaching skills that kids need to prepare them for school ahead.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.542)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.542) out of 10 for Little Forest Folk Morden is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Little Forest Folk Morden is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.542 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Forest Folk Morden is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 number of registered child places is 4.8. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.8 = 0.417

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
