Thank you so much for taking the time to send this review. We are very proud of our sugar-free home-cooked food by our wonderful cook here at Ashbridge-on-Ribble, we know how important a healthy diet is for children's development and learning so thank you so much for recognising that as well as all the other great things about Ashbridge-on-Ribble!

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.948) out of 10 for Ashbridge on Ribble Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 4.840 for Ashbridge on Ribble Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (80 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 94 Ratings = 4.84
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').
The 4.108 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashbridge on Ribble Day Nursery is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 130 number of registered child places is 26. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 26 = 0.308
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Head of Nursery
Joined: 2011
Qualifications
BTEC Level 3 in Early Years, TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
Career Overview
I have worked in the Early Years industry since 2006. My career with Ashbridge started back in 2011 as a Nursery Practitioner at our Hutton site. Since then, I have taken on several different roles including Room Leader, Deputy Manager and my most exhilarating role yet as Head of Nursery. I had the privilege of opening and leading Maxy Farm for 6 and a half years, before taking on an exciting venture as Head of Nursery at Ashbridge on Ribble Nursery in 2023.
Professional and Personal Interests
My greatest passions within early years are heuristic play, outdoor play and learning (especially Forest and River School) and outdoor sleeping. In 2007, I was fortunate enough to embark on an incredible educational trip to Sweden and Finland to research these pedagogies further.
In my personal life, I love to travel. I have lived and worked in Australia, Abu Dhabi and Cambodia and have visited places far and wide including Thailand, The Philippines, The Maldives and Singapore. I plan on visiting Japan and New Zealand in the next couple of years too. Outside of work and travel, I also love to cook, listen to podcasts and audiobooks and attend dance classes every week.
Job Title: Early Years Teacher
Joined: 2021
I began my career at Ashbridge in 2021 as a practitioner in the 2-3 room and then I took on the role of Early Years Teacher. Young children need a safe and nurturing environment where they feel valued and cared for.
Ensuring my classroom is a warm and welcoming space is a top priority. My favourite part of my role is fostering and facilitating the natural curiosity of children! We enjoy spending as much time outdoors as we can, and we work hard to teach respect to the natural world around us through hands-on experiences. My favourite part of our site is our wonderful garden where we grow a variety of fruits and vegetables for the children to try.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing and watching football, drawing and painting and tending to my garden at home!
