Cromwell Road Day Nursery and Pre-school is located within a beautiful 4 storey Victorian building, spacious, light and airy rooms and a large garden.

Maintaining a family atmosphere is very important to the team, and they take pride in updating parents and carers with the children's progress. The nursery uses an app to securely share photos and updates, as well as an in-depth handover at the end of each day.

An ideal solution for commuting parents, the nursery is located in the heart of Hove and offers sessions to suit any busy family.

A large and secure outdoor area is equipped with a mud kitchen, and has plenty of space to climb, run and explore nature. It complements the indoor environment and allows children to learn in whichever environment suits them - indoors or outdoors.

All activities are based solely on the children's interests and development - building on existing knowledge and allowing the children to develop their independence.

Parent partnership is very important to the team, and the nursery holds Open Days and parents events regularly throughout the year.

It is very nice to see my child's key worker from the baby room who is attentive, caring and approachable to talk. In time, we hope to see the same from more members of staff whilst greeting or informing parents at the door.

Our son has recently started at Cromwell Road Day Nursery. The staff in the baby room have been very attentive, kind, and informative, reassuring us that he is in capable and compassionate hands. We have been able to settle him at our own pace, and he always seems to have had a fun time.

Both of my children have attended this nursery.
One 10 years ago and my youngest currently.
I really love the warmth and kindness the staff show towards my son. I always have a little chat with them and they are always welcoming.
My son literally runs in, he is so happy to go to nursery which is
so reassuring for me when I have to work.
I want to mention a special shout-out to the staff I've come into contact with -
the manager, four members of staff in particular and others. There's a younger man on Butterflies who is very sweet too.

Footsteps Day Nursery Hove has supported my nephew's growth and development since when he first started at 6 months old, he is now in the preschool room ready to go off to his next big adventure of school! I always pick him up one day a week and the staff are always so welcoming and friendly - they
let me know what he’s been up to and eaten. I must say, when they got taken over by a new company, it came with its uncertainties but it has been such a smooth transition and I can really see the difference it is making. The manager has reassured my sister and myself through this transition and is always happy to answer any questions we have! I am truly sad that he will be leaving soon as the staff here have truly set him up, ready for his future! Five stars from a very happy little boy and family.

My son has been at the nursery for five months now. Firstly, on being given the tour, my husband and I were really reassured how safe the nursery presented. Our son has allergies and the staff really took the time to understand his care needs. Our son is really happy at the nursery and we have been
surprised at how much he is learning there. All the staff are friendly and really take interest in his well-being. Of note are two members of staff, in particular, who seem to be his best friends. Thank you from all of us.

Our 7-month-old daughter has been going to Footsteps Day Nurser Hove since the beginning of January and I can confidently say that I feel secure leaving her with them more and more each week.
Her primary carers go out of their way to ensure she’s happy, eating and having her proper naps.
I would highly
recommend Footsteps, Hove to anyone who is looking for that perfect balance of care, learning and quality for their children.

Both of my children have been happy at Footsteps Day Nursery. My 7-year-old still talks about his time there, even three years after he left! The staff always give useful feedback at handovers and know my child's likes and dislikes. They've worked hard to help him with areas he's found challenging.
The food is prepared on-site and is always "yummy". The team on the pre-school floor are great and the manager has always been very engaged in working with the children. Thank you everyone!

I love the food too, whenever I visit the nurseries I always make sure to arrive at lunchtime so I can have a little plate! We’ve loved the nursery for the last five years, through two children. The staff make the nursery, especially management. The love my youngest received by a member of staff, in particular, was great, she really listened to our routine and any concerns we had. I’ll be sad when my youngest leaves!

So disappointed in the change in the nursery since this new takeover. No trips, no special events and no leadership in a place that once shone and is why we chose to travel further when we had our second child. Closure of one of the floors for at least 5 months and an upcoming price hike to make your
eyes water (£17 increase a day to £69 if using their only booking system on an ad hoc basis - the reason we chose this nursery in the first place). The staff are professional and caring (big mention must go to the Butterflies team), the food is freshly cooked and seems varied, and my child is happy here, which is the main thing, but I would be removing my child if she wasn’t heading to school in September. I cannot uproot her so close to the end. Such a shame the new owners are not interacting with parents/carers. It has left a bitter taste in many parent's mouths.

The manager has been absolutely amazing with my foster child. She has dedicated one-to-one time with him and he has come on leaps and bounds her patience and dedication to her job really shine through along with the rest of the team. My daughter absolutely loves this nursery and so do we! She is so excited to go every day and talks about the staff like they are her family, especially the manager who has been looking after her for years now. It takes such a weight off as a parent to know your child is being so well looked after.

Changed too much since taken over by nursery family - negatively.
My child is leaving and going to a different nursery. Had another child there for 4 years whilst it was Footsteps and it was amazing. Then just before he left for school, ownership changed. This change has been in shambles! Would not
recommend the nursery at all. No curriculum being sent, poor communication, have no idea what my child is learning.

Both my son and daughter love the nursery. It's very warm and welcoming. The staff are very caring. The whole nursery team are very supportive not only to the children but also the parents. Overall, we are very happy with the nursery.
