Jack in the Box Nursery's purpose is to provide a safe, happy, caring, secure and stimulating environment for your child and help all children to prepare for the future.

All families are welcome into the nursery and each child is treated as an individual.

The dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced staff are committed to providing the highest quality of care and learning for children. They believe that if children are happy, they will achieve.

Their ethos is to incorporate different learning styles within the setting. The team incorporate the Early Years Foundation Stage and aspects of The Curiosity Approach, Forest School and Montessori.

Their mission is to provide a homely environment at Jack in the Box Nursery where all can achieve and develop within a calm, caring, child-centred, creative and curious environment.

The nursery's enchanted garden provides an inspirational process that provides children with opportunities to achieve and develop confidence through hands on learning. The outdoors is very important the team hope that the enchanted garden and outdoor space will instil a love for the great outdoors in the children. They feel that enabling children to use various real tools, building campfires and exploring natural resources will bring their learning to life, enabling children to get close to nature and understand the wider world. They encourage children to assess risks and their choices to support the safety of the group. Working as a team in the enchanted garden enables children to solve problems, develop communication and negotiation skills and form friendships.

Jack in the Box Hempnall were finalists at the 2023 NMT awards for the outdoor learning environment award.

Jack in the box is a first rate day nursery. All the staff are passionate about the children and they provide a safe learning environment. The activities and timetable really enhance each child's potential. I would have no hesitation in recommending jack in the box to anybody with children of the appropriate
age. As a result of attending Jack in the box I know that our son will be ready for school with all the tools, patience, learning and fun attitude he has gained from attending.

My boy has just finished nursery before starting school in September. He has been at Jack In The Box for over 3 years. The recipes that went on here are I feel quite skewed. Most reviews are from before the nursery was taken over in September 2023. The nursery deserved its outstanding rating however
since the takeover the nursery has gone downhill as then shown by a recent Ofsted inspection with a good rating. I don't know a single member of staff of the 30 who is still there (the cook has just left!). There used to be a good ratio of staff to children now it seems the minimum levels as provided. The app is provided with a couple of pictures, often with the same activity and a very brief overview. My child didn't seem to feel as stretched as they used to. If he wasn't going to school in September I would have moved him to a different setting. Most staff seem to be young and starting their childcare with very few experienced people there. I would rate this nursery as good at best.

Sadly, we have seen recruitment challenges since last year and this is very much a sector wide issue we face. We have worked hard pre our Ofsted Inspection and they are confident in our abilities to continue working on action plans created for improvement. Jack in the Box Nursery is truly outstanding. The staff build meaningful and caring relationships with the children in their care and go above and beyond on a daily basis.
The learning environment is calm and inviting and promotes a real curiosity for learning whilst building social skills. Adults
move learning forward through their questioning and finding out what children are interested in.
Communication is excellent. Email correspondence is responded to within hours and all paperwork is completed and available for parents to access. Key people give daily updates on all aspects of your child's day and are able to answer any questions parents have.
The nursery uses an app to communicate photographs of what your child has been doing throughout the day with detailed comments and next steps.
I can not recommend this nursery enough, I wouldn't have my child go anywhere else!

Both of my children have/are attending Jack In The Box Nursery - Hempnall and I can't fault it. The staff are all amazing, the thought that goes into all the activities and children's well-being and development is second to none. The nursery is welcoming and my children have loved their time here and
it is certainly the best preparation ahead of starting school.

Jack In The Box Nursery - Hempnall has the perfect setting with a huge outside space. The children spend lots of time outside and they even have an outside classroom and toilet which mine have enjoyed using.
Having a shy anxious daughter we were always worried where to send her where she would be happy
but we have never had any issues with Jack In The Box Nursery - Hempnall. All of the girls that work there are so welcoming and tailor the children’s day to suit their needs. They make the children feel loved and I never worry that my children won’t feel safe and happy at drop off (even if they go in sad). I highly recommend this nursery.

Lovely little nursery, our daughter loves going to this nursery and loves the staff that care for her. She has thrived since attending, we saw instant development benefits in all aspects of her life from social skills to speech etc and this has only continued during her time there. Regular communications
from the nursery to parents as well as updates as to what your child does in during their sessions.

Excellent nursery setting, very engaged and supportive staff. My daughter has attended for almost 2 years now and I have been very pleased with how she has been supported and her development. The staff know her well and we get regular updates on her activities and progress. She has always enjoyed nursery

We are so pleased with Jack in the Box. Both of our boys attend and have really good relationships with their key workers. Our eldest absolutely loves his time at nursery! We are always kept up to date with any changes etc. Great nursery!

My son has been there for a while now and he loves it. They teach the kids so well, basics of speaking/behaviours and setting boundaries in line with how we do at home too. We get great communication at the end of days in there/through the day if any issues arise, the staff there seem to care about
the kids so much, my sons always talking about them in such nice ways and has bonded with a few of them so well.
Car park is a bit ropey, almost lost a bumper on the way in, but the area round the back for the kids looks great. Gardens and play areas are spot on.
Send round a menu regularly and the food has a good balance in there.
Can’t fault the place or the people over the last year.

Excellent nursery! My little one has thrived here. Lovely kind and caring staff. Meals are varied and healthy. Garden is stunning for the little ones to play in, and the rooms are filled with lots of zones to spark the children’s imagination. Great that the nursery is open until 6pm!
