My daughter attended Little Wrens Day Nursery & Preschool since she was 8 months old and has recently just left to go to school.
For the past 4 years, Little Wrens was a big part of her life where she built strong, trustworthy relationships with the staff some of whom have been with her since her first
day. Little Wrens has helped my daughter develop in all areas which has enabled her to be the confident and independent little girl she is today. One thing that I really appreciated Little Wrens for was the opportunity to intergenerate with the elderly who live at the care home, this isn't something that other nurseries are able to do and the children and ladies and gents love it.

Brilliant, small nursery. Always feels personal and you get to know the staff and other children. My daughter loves the intergenerational sessions with the care home residents, music and movement activities and spending time with the ducks and chickens. She also enjoys forest school. There are plenty
of open days/events for parents to get involved in. You're kept updated via the app which is great.

Amazing nursery! My little boy went from 9 months to graduating at 4 last month and we have been so happy with the love and care he has been shown throughout. The staff at the nursery really care about the children and go above and beyond every day. One of my favourite things about Little Wrens is the
intergenerational time with the care home residents. My little boy loved that.

Very much recommended.
A wonderful setting - so happy with the care and support for my son, particularly in getting him school-ready.
Brilliant, friendly team who have the children’s needs at the forefront.
We also loved the meals which were suitable but also pushed him out of his comfort zone.
Great
value and loved the app where you get lots of pics and updates on how they’re getting on.
For a small setting, it has some lovely, diverse outdoor spaces, with access to the nursing home garden which is huge and wonderful, and they’ve utilised it excellently for the children.

My grandchildren have been attending Little Wrens since 2019. One was nearly 2 and the other 14 weeks old. They both continued attending full-time until they each left to start school.
The care given to both children was above and beyond. Not only did they support the children through some very difficult
times they also supported the rest of the family.
They are amazing people giving amazing care.
The children have benefited greatly from the staff being a part of their lives.

Both of my children have attended Little Wrens and have loved it. We have decided to keep our youngest at Little Wrens rather than send her to the nearby primary school nursery. We are very happy with the support, play, care and education provided to the children. In particular, the Forest Schools and
the intergenerational activities with the local care home residents are highlights of the provision.

Little Wrens is an amazing place to leave your little one. The setting is safe, and secure and demonstrates high standards of governance. Staff are friendly, caring and focused on your little one at all times. The nursery offers a range of toys and activities both inside and outside all year round.
Play is fun, educational or both, and my little one always comes home with a smile. Food is nutritious and varied and sleep/naps are encouraged/supported to make sure your little one gets everything they need. I couldn't be happier with our nursery choice and I'm so pleased we found Little Wrens.

This is a brilliant nursery. The staff are all very caring and professional. My granddaughter really enjoys going and the experience has really increased her confidence. I can highly recommend Little Wrens to anyone looking for a nursery.

We’re new to the area but my daughter has settled in really well. All the staff are absolutely lovely and do a fantastic job in caring for and teaching my little one. Communication on the app is spot on. My daughter is always so happy upon collection, she always has a great day.

My son has been attending Little Wrens for nearly a year now and I honestly cannot speak highly enough of this great little nursery. The staff very quickly helped him settle in and from the first day, I have felt comfortable leaving him in their care, confident he will be looked after and undertake
a wide variety of activities both educational and fun. Communication with the nursery is very easy and staff always have time to chat or address any concerns or answer questions at drop-off and pick-ups. The nursery is attached to a residential home and the little ones regularly visit the old people, which I think is really beneficial for everyone.

Courtney Price

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2019

Courtney, who’s worked in childcare for more than ten years now, became an integral part of our Little Wrens team in 2019. Since joining, she’s worked tirelessly through the ranks to become Nursery Manager, leading the rest of the team to ensure excellent service in a safe, thriving and happy setting.


When she’s not working, Courtney spends her time watching films, walking her dog and visiting new places with her family.


Charlotte

Charlotte Wright

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2021

Charlotte joined Little Wrens in 2021 and has since worked her way up into her current role as Deputy Manager.


With an impressive nine years of experience behind her, she has a wealth of knowledge and qualifications that enable her to support the running of the nursery and ensure a safe and nurturing environment.


When she’s not working, Charlotte enjoys cosy duvet days and film nights, and regularly visits the Peak and Lake Districts for dog-walking holidays.

Sarah Harpham

With extensive experience in supporting children, Sarah began by supervising holiday clubs, after-school programmes, and respite care for vulnerable, disadvantaged, and SEND children. She then set up a local playgroup that catered to children with additional needs, backed by council and parental support.


Later, she started volunteering with HomeStart and SureStart, where she earned her Level 1 and Level 3 childcare certificates, alongside qualifications in ECAT, healthy eating, and Makaton signing. This journey also saw her becoming a special guardian for a family member. Over the years, she’s enriched her skills in various nurseries across Nottinghamshire.


Since joining Little Wrens in 2021, she’s further expanded her expertise, through emotion coaching conferences, SENDCO training, and more. Stating that she’s discovered a fulfilling path, Sarah is currently pursuing her Level 5 childcare qualification.


Beyond work, she enjoys the gym, yoga, crochet, quality family time, and delving into child development psychology.


Shona

Shona Elgie

Job Title: Level 3 Educator

Joined: 2018

Shona spent seventeen years working as a childminder while her own children were little, before starting at Little Wrens when it opened more than five years ago.


She’s a qualified level 3 practitioner, room leader, and level 3 Forest school lead, as well as being paediatric first aid trained.


With a strong focus on family, Shona enjoys spending time with her loved ones — whether it’s going on holidays, eating delicious meals, or embarking on long, refreshing dog walks.


Harlie

Harlie Bradshaw

Job Title: Level 3 Educator

Joined: 2022

A level 3 qualified early years practitioner, Harlie spent two years gaining significant experience as a student. She’s now in her first year as a qualified team member and is making waves here at Little Wrens.


In her spare time, she loves arts and crafts, baking, and gaming, and uses her creativity to inspire the children in our care and help them develop in different ways.

Kirsty Smith

Kirsty has a wealth of experience in childcare, having previously worked in a school setting where she supported children with SEN on a 1:1 ratio.


She joined Little Wrens when we first opened our doors and is equipped with a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, Level 3 Early Educator certification, Autism Awareness training, and first aid skills to support her in her role.

Amanda Wain

Job Title: Administrator

Joined: 2019

Having dedicated 17 years to leading a team of childcare and social experts within a college, Amanda became a valuable addition to our Wren Hall team, taking on an administrative role.


With her Childcare Level 3 qualification and extensive management experience, Amanda handles invoicing and administrative tasks, while also offering assistance to the Little Wrens team as needed.


An integral part of the team, Amanda works Monday to Wednesday and when she’s not working she can be found socialising and spending time with family and friends.


Amanda’s nurturing nature isn't limited to work hours as she is also a loving grandmother to a one-year-old grandson who she loves to spend her time with.
