Blossoms Day Nursery is a purpose-built setting, based within the village of Burn, providing childcare for children aged 0-5 years old.

The nursery operates from four rooms; a baby room, an infant room, a toddler room and a pre-school room. Each room consists of pathways for children to browse their environment at their own leisure. Rooms are carefully designed to ensure that when a child is browsing their environment, they are still learning within every area of the room.

The nursery adopt the Reggio Emilia approach in their practice. The Reggio Emilia belief is that all children are capable, creative and intelligent. At Blossoms, practitioners work with the child as an active collaborator, both adult and child learning together. They encourage children to investigate and explore their own questions, theories and ideas about what is happening in the world around them. They support their investigations into these questions through creativity, allowing children to lead and develop their own pieces of work.

Blossoms Day Nursery promote learning outdoors as it develops the children’s relationship with nature, and also include resources that are as natural as possible for learning whilst indoors. The children are supported in their creative ideas, and they believe no idea is wrong. Staff study and learn from the children and extend their ideas to see where it leads.

  • Non-Funded Children
    Full Day (7:30am-5:30pm/ 8:00am-6:00pm) - £66.50
    AM/PM session (7:30am-12:30pm/ 1:00pm-6:00pm) - £37.00

    Hourly rate - £6.45


  • All fees include meals:
    Breakfast is served from 7.30am-9am.
    Mid morning snack.
    Lunch served from 11.30am. This is always a hot meal.
    *children doing a morning session will receive the above.


    Mid afternoon snack.
    Tea served from 4pm. This is usually a snack tea.
    *children doing the afternoon session will receive the above.
    Children doing a full day will receive all meals and snacks.


    Fees also include nappies and wipes.


    *All funded hours will be charged a care package, this will cover the cost of food including snacks, nappies, wipes, creams, extracurricular activities, and sundries

We put our sons down on the waiting list as soon as we saw a nursery was been built as it was conveniently placed for work. We are so pleased we did. As a family, we can not fault Blossoms. My baby boy absolutely loves his days at nursery. He has formed some fantastic relationships with all of the staff.
We can not wait to see how develops with the support of the staff and stimulating environment.

My daughter started at Blossoms Day Nursery after the manager kindly fitted us in for a start date in a rush, due to leaving her old nursery and receiving the free hours.
All staff have been brilliant with her and she comes back very happy each day.
The nursery is very spacious with a fantastic outdoor
area which has views of horses in the fields which the children love.
The activities and food the children receive are fantastic. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for childcare.

Really lovely nursery with great caring staff and a beautiful environment. The toys are really high quality in the infant room where my son goes and they also run lots of different activities each week based on seasons or other moments in the calendar. My son always plays outside when at nursery too
with stimulating activities. I love the app used by the nursery- you get real-time updates and pictures documenting the day, activities, food, sleep and nappies. My son is vegetarian and they always have a great menu for him which is always changing.
The staff are friendly and caring and I love sending my son there.

I started my career while studying at university and working as a Nursery Practitioner. I then progressed to being an EYFS Manager for a chain of nurseries once graduating with my BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and completing my EYPS at Level 6.


I have a real passion for providing outstanding quality childcare and believe the most important years in a child's life for development are in the early years. Creating an environment where the vision of 'Quality is our Reality' is at the heart of both our nurseries.

After leaving school I went on to complete my Level 3 Childcare where I worked in this industry for a couple of years. A change in career led me down the HR route and I found a real passion for training and development.

I started at Blossoms, when the first nursery opened, back in June 2018 and feel my passion for early years has grown even further during my time here. I love working with such an ambitious and dedicated team, providing high-quality and challenging learning experiences for children to ‘flourish’.

When I was seventeen years old, I started working in childcare and stayed in the industry ever since, having a real passion for working with children in their Early Years. I hold a level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce and aim to complete my Foundation Degree in the future.


I joined the Blossoms team in January 2023, after coming back from living in Cyprus for two years as my husband got deployed there with the Military. Previous to this I have had extensive managerial experience in nursery settings and am excited to be back fulfilling my passion with such a supportive and ambitious team.
