Puddleducks Children’s Day Nursery Malton is situated just outside the lovely market town of Malton, perfectly located beside the A64 on a main commuter route out of Malton. The purpose-built nursery boasts spacious rooms and large, enclosed outdoors areas for children to play and learn. Having been designed and built with children and their needs in mind, the nursery is a well-designed, homely environment. Its has its own private car park to the front of the building, which is easily accessed. Places are offered from birth, up to children leaving for school and the setting contains 3 rooms, babies, toddlers and preschool.

When visiting the nursery, you will notice there are very few plastic manufactured toys. The team are strong believers that the more a toy does, the less a child learns from it. So, typical plastic toys with their flashing lights and noisy buttons do not feature in the nursery. Instead, they value open-ended, recycled, real items. As a result, children show deep levels of engagement and curiosity in their play – both are essential for effective learning and development.

The team of staff are dedicated to excellence and a key person approach always ensures that they are enabling and supporting close attachments between individual children and individual nursery staff. The Key Person approach recognises that an infant is distressed by differences and comforted by the familiar. Before your child begins their journey at Puddleducks, you will be informed which member of the team will be their key person.
Your child’s key person will meet any physical needs, such as changing nappies, feeding or cuddling at nap time, and in this way, they begin to build a secure attachment with your child. Touch is a powerful non-verbal message, reassuring children that they are liked and welcome, and cuddling is promoted. Your child’s key person will be your main point of contact.

I couldn't ask any more of the team that look after my two little ones at Puddleducks! My little girl has been with the nursery for 2 years, during which time she has created strong bonds with the staff, especially her key workers, grown in confidence & character and formed some wonderful friendships
with the other children. From experience I knew I wouldn't find a better place to care for my little boy following my recent maternity leave - again I've been reassured of the excellent care they provide with how quickly he's settled and bonded with his key worker. It makes leaving them so much easier knowing how content they are.
The support and encouragement they receive to explore their own learning is incredible, and the environment provided is safe yet beautiful.
I really couldn't recommend a better place than Puddleducks and their lovely team!

My daughter has been with Puddleducks Nursery in Malton since it opened and has been in both the Baby and Toddler room and we cannot rate it highly enough. It really is like a home from home, I know when I drop my daughter off she will have a fantastic time full of love and laughter. Everyday teaches
her something new through a vast array of activities. They more than deserve there outstanding ofsted rating.

I can not praise this nursery enough!! Both of our girls love going to nursery and have settled in brilliantly. Our eldest also receives a little bit of extra care, which as a mum was very daunting to leave her in someone else's care but I couldn't be happier with how well she's looked after. Keep up

I absolutely love Puddleducks Nursery Malton. It's so difficult to hand your baby over for the first time after maternity leave but the staff have made the whole transition more or less seamless!
Even though my daughter went for her last year of nursery and I knew the setting, I was apprehensive about
my baby starting as I was going back to work so much earlier than I had hoped and way before I did with my daughter. Puddleducks made me feel so comfortable and luckily my son took to his key worker and the other staff straight away. I felt listened to and understood and I have been so happy to drop him off every morning knowing how happy he is there.

All our interactions with Puddleducks have been positive. The team are very friendly, accommodating and professional. I love the key worker system which has really helped my child settle at the nursery but he still gets plenty of time supported by the wider team. There's always a good range of activities
for the children to do. I appreciate how responsive the staff are to my child's mood/needs on any given day. The menu provision is excellent.

Our daughter has absolutely flourished at Puddleducks Nursery. Going back to work after maternity leave is tough but I knew from day 1 that she was in the best place. Two years on she still loves going and her communication skills, her willingness to eat/try everything and her confidence at getting

We would recommend Puddleducks Nursery to anyone thinking of putting their child into a nursery setting. All of the staff are absolutely fabulous and greet each of the children with their name as they walk in which makes them feel welcome as soon as they arrive.
All of the rooms are beautiful and
are tailored to the needs of each age range and the outside facilities are brilliant too - our son loves them! Their communication cannot be faulted and we are notified of any issues quickly and they are also quick to reply to any questions you have.

I've been sending my boys to Puddleducks Nursery since 2021 and cannot fault them. My eldest is now at primary school and has had the most amazing start thanks to all his amazing key workers at Puddleducks. All staff members are so caring and approachable. I have always felt at ease leaving both my
boys with their key workers, knowing how well they will be cared for, something which is hugely important to me as a mum. The nursery is well equipped and their food is out of this world. My little boy went on so many trips when he was in their preschool room, such as visits to the library, Panto, care home and weekly visits to the local martial arts center - he loved this! Their outdoor space is the best, children have the freedom to spend all their time outside if they want to, this was really important to me when choosing a nursery. Highly recommend Puddleducks!

Puddleducks Nursery is an excellent nursery and I could not be happier with the care they give my son. He is always playing and learning new things and every day is a new exciting adventure. He is so happy and settled and bounces into nursery every day he attends with a massive smile on his face.
The
staff are incredible. They are always happy and every member of staff knows all the names of the children. They are caring, fun and child centred in everything they do. They really do go above and beyond. It is so much easier to leave my son when I know he is going to have a fantastic day and be cared for by so many lovely experts.

My son moved from an Outstanding rated Pre-School in Manchester in March 2024 to Puddleducks Nursery. I was nervous about how he would transition into a completely different setting as it seemed a lot calmer and more structured than his last pre-school.
His move was so smooth, I think as a result
of how lovely, kind and welcoming everyone is.
The amount of effort the team put in to arranging extra trips and people to visit is a truly enriching experience (trips to the zoo, the butcher, the florist, visits from farmers, animals etc.) as his old pre-school did not do anything like that.
There is a thorough handover at the end of each day including the activities they have done, what they have had to eat etc. There is also a social media page which is regularly updated with photos.
I would 100% recommend anyone in the area to attend and feel that they have prepared him well for school in September.

Puddleducks Nursery have been outstanding in the care they have provided for my children. The different activities and experiences they offer them are wonderful and my children are very happy there. They are very supportive in all areas and I feel like the feedback and communication are outstanding.
The food is outstanding with a varied menu and my children love it all. I would highly recommend anyone considering a nursery to look at Puddleducks. 10/10!

I could not sing enough praises about Puddleducks Nursery! Our first little girl has attended nursery since July 2024 and all of us have enjoyed every moment of it. Not just our daughter learning new skills and socialising but the ladies that keep Malton running are just so lovely and instantly make
you feel totally at ease. The weekly overall nursery updates, daily photos online and general communication are the best. Even after little accidents, we are kept in the loop of it happening and how our daughter is doing.
I can't wait for the next few years here at Puddleducks and all of our future babies attending!

Such an amazing nursery. My child was fairly late to start nursery as I was so anxious about leaving her but the first time we went to Puddleducks Nursery we knew she'd be looked after. The staff are amazing my child loves every person that looks after her. The nursery truly is incredible and deserves

Great nursery, my baby loves going and although it took a while to get used to it. I think she absolutely loves it and always comes out happy and smiling. The size of each room is great for the children to have different sections to play in, and the outdoor area the same. By the sounds of things they
have lots of fun activities they can choose to do which are some things you wouldn't necessarily do at home. The staff are also really lovely and always attentive and friendly.

We couldn’t be happier with Puddleducks and the way they have been so impressive with our child, so welcoming and kind to us after we were afraid of him starting nursery being so young. His key worker is so lovely and just so welcoming every time we see her. I feel like he is going into a safe place
every time I leave him, and as a mum, that is all you could wish for.

My daughter started Puddleducks in Malton at eight months old in January and she absolutely loves it. After viewing the nursery last year, we knew it was the one we wanted her to attend as it just seemed above and beyond the rest. She goes in smiling and looks back when we pick her up! The team are

Our daughter has been at Puddleducks since she was 8 months old (now 2) and the care and love all the staff show her is incredible. I know she's in safe hands, has an amazing time (the smile on her face speaks volumes), eats and tries a variety of food, and does lots of different activities inside and
outside. They have supported her every step of the way and she's now growing in confidence and exploring different things - she now loves baking and climbs more confidently for example. The staff went above and beyond when she became scared of water and made sure to provide extra water play and talking about bath time which helped massively at home. I couldn't ask for more. Thank you so much!

Lindsey is a qualified and experienced primary teacher, specialising in early years. She has loved working with children from all walks of life. Children’s earliest experience of education and learning are key to their development and having struggled to find a local nursery that she trusted with her own child; Lindsey invests time and effort into creating an environment for children to flourish in.


Lindsey is a creative soul at heart and when you don’t find her at the nursery, you’ll usually find her working on a messy project or with her head under a sewing machine. Lindsey also has a costume degree and after spending some time working on a few Disney films, she still cannot be away from her machine for too long!


She is lucky enough to be blessed with a wonderful little boy that LOVES to read. She enjoys a Gruffalo hunt in the woods followed by hot chocolates and plenty of biscuits!

Having worked at our Sheriff Hutton site for 9 years, Rose now supports Lindsey and the smooth operations at our Malton site. If she’s not busy with operations in the office, she can be found snuggled up with a group of babies.


Rose loves the nurturing aspect of her job, recognising that cuddles and comfort are key to babies’ development. With years of experience working with babies, Rose is an experienced practitioner with a wealth of knowledge and understanding of babies developmental and welfare needs. She has two little girls of her own; both have attended Puddleducks with her and have flown our nest to primary school now. As a parent herself, she fully understands the enormity of placing your children in a nursery. Rose is our longest-standing team member and continues to be a significant member of the Puddleducks team.

Preeya Patel

Preeya also started her Puddleducks journey at our Sheriff Hutton site and worked in our preschool for 5 years. In July 2022, she moved across to our new nursery in Malton, and now leads a new team of people in our Malton preschool room. Preeya has years of early years’ experience, having worked in the early years’ classroom at a local primary school before joining Puddleducks. Preeya ensures that our preschool is a vibrant and fun place for children to spend their final year with us before moving to school.


Preeya recently joined our management team at Malton, she now works alongside Lindsey and Rose to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.
