Apex Kids - Trinity House is a family run and independent nursery and pre-school serving the communities of Penge, Crystal Palace and Anerley.

The nursery has a 140ft garden, a rare find in this part of urban London, and places outdoor play at the very heart of every child’s daily routine.

The nursey was previously a medical centre for over 30 years and many children at the nursery have seen their parents visit as patients to the medical practice.

We have had a really great experience at Apex Kids. We love the fact that the nursery has a lovely garden to be outdoors. Our son has settled in very well and has taken to the staff and carers, who have gone out of their way to help adapt to nursery life and a new routine.

Our child loves going to nursery! It's a caring, warm and pleasant place for little ones. The management communicates very well and they make it easy to build trust. The garden space and outdoor time are fantastic. I highly recommend this nursery.

The nursery provides a welcoming and nurturing environment. The staff pay keen attention to the children's development and interests - tailoring activities as appropriate. They have great resources - indoors and outdoors and arrange trips for the children when possible. The meals/snacks are varied.
Parent communication is good and family activities planned during the year. Everything you would want in a nursery, as a parent.

This is a wonderful nursery. It’s really well run and it’s clear that hiring standards are really high, each member of staff is so lovely. They all know my son by name and have some kind of connection with him, even if they don’t usually work in his room.
My boy had a hard time being separated from
me when he first joined but staff not only made sure he was well cared for, they were also really empathetic and understanding of how difficult it was for us as parents and they helped us to do the right thing by him. He’s thriving there!
Oh and important to mention is the events they run for the kids and parents. They do morning and evening events and it’s so important to get to know staff and other parents and to see how they’re supporting the children’s development.

My daughter loves going to nursery at Apex! The staff are so friendly and caring, the food is home-cooked and nutritious and the play is educational and stimulating! She has been going since only 9 months old and I have definitely seen a difference in her development since starting. It felt so daunting
leaving her in a new environment from a young age, but the team put my mind at ease straight away and I’m so happy we found the perfect nursery for her. I would (and have) highly recommend Apex Nursery.

Impressed by Apex, both by the premises and how the nursery is run. The manager and her team genuinely seem to enjoy and take pride in their job and we know, as educators ourselves, this is something that can’t be faked (without a lot of effort!) and it rubs off on the children. Our child is always
happy to be dropped off and comes home exhausted, which we’re happy about. Also, there is definitely an effort to build a community between parents and staff, moving beyond the client/service provider relationship. Would definately recommend.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.361)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.361) out of 10 for Apex Kids - Trinity House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.988 for Apex Kids - Trinity House is calculated as follows: ( (83 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.988

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.373 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Apex Kids - Trinity House is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 number of registered child places is 10.4. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.4 = 0.673

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
