Bright Starts Glasgow is located in the Balmore Industrial Estate close to Possil Park/ Parkhouse train station. The nursery comprises of two floor levels including a modern kitchen where the chef will cook nutritious homemade food for all the children and cater to individual preferences/ food tolerances and allergies. The menu is rotated on a 3 weekly cycle and is alternated twice yearly to ensure a change of season is considered.

The team have had regular involvement in hand picking resources to benefit all the children's interests and to facilitate their learning whilst further enhancing their development.

The nursery is led by a passionate, motivated and skilled team, that participate in regular training opportunities to up skill their knowledge and understanding for Early Years Frameworks.

The outdoor environment, compliments the indoor environment through the use of natural resources and open-ended choices to stimulate the children's natural curiosity and wander through enriched learning experiences to facilitate their individual interests.

My son has attended this nursery since he was 9 months and has settled in so well. All the staff go above and beyond to make sure all his needs are catered for. They do different daily activities that aid development and have them outside daily. The nursery provides a great menu and has been making
updates to its already great facilities. Fantastic nursery and great value for money.

So far my children have had a wonderful experience being in this nursery and I am so pleased with that. Management and staff are really good and transparent, frequent updates about your child's development. All children and parents are well respected. The nursery has a lot of indoor and outdoor spaces
to explore, a safe environment for kids, healthy meals, clean environment, nice staff and above all professionalism and a good value for money. I couldn't be more happy with my children being at Bright Starts Nursery.

I have had two kids in the nursery since 2021 to present and I can say the difference the new management has made is amazing. The nursery is clean and genuinely caring for the well-being of all babies and toddlers.

Since Bright Starts Nursery have taken over from the previous nursery, the experiences and day-to-day running of the nursery have been much more positive and enjoyable. My daughter loves going in and exploring the new garden and new areas. Staff are all lovely and inclusive and generally, there is a
more happy setting.

Very good communication with the kindergarten, creative games for children, nice garden and nice staff. I recommend it to every parent. My son is very happy and enjoys going to this kindergarten.

I love this nursery, they go above and beyond all the time. My little boy loves going and is always asking when he's going back, the staff are amazing and management is so involved with the kids which you don't always see in nurseries. Before deciding on Bright Starts Nursery, we viewed a number of Glasgow-based options. It was the friendly welcome and staff that originally attracted us to the nursery. In the past twelve months, there has been significant investment into the nursery - improving the facilities and; outdoor space with
more resources now available for use. I would highly recommend this nursery, especially with their competitive pricing. The management is visible which I think is important and we have full confidence leaving our daughter here - she absolutely loves her days at Bright Starts. We receive regular updates via an app so can see what she is up to each day. They also have a chef who prepares healthy meals every day. If you are looking for a nursery - give this one a visit and you won't be disappointed. Exceptional value for money but above all, a friendly and warm environment for your little ones!

The app is a great way of communicating and building rapport with our families and we are lucky to have this facility in nursery. My little boy goes here and I can't thank the staff enough for how well they have gotten him settled, I was scared that he wasn't going to and he absolutely loves nursery. The nursery is beautiful inside and out also and the girls all work really hard in all the rooms. This is the second nursery my
little one has been to now and it's the perfect nursery for him!

My boy loves going to nursery, he has learned so much and loves telling us everything he learns when he gets home! All the teachers are so nice and made him feel so welcome, when he was upset during his settling-in days they would reassure him and give lots of cuddles. Would highly recommend this nursery.

Carrie Lloyd

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Hello, my name is Carrie.


I started my career in early years at the age of 18 years old. I began working for the YMCA in Dumfries working alongside children from 6 weeks to 6 years. I completed my HNC and was promoted to the senior of the baby room, working for this establishment for 5 years.


I decided in 2014, I wanted to enhance my learning opportunities so I enrolled for my BA (Hons) Working with Children and Families in Carlisle, later graduating with a first degree. Upon completion of my degree, I moved to Glasgow with my husband to begin my new management role in the private sector.


Since working in the early years and having a variety of training opportunities, I have become very passionate about Reggio Emilia principles, hygge and The Curiosity Approach. I am very inspired by Froebel's theories about the natural world and Children's play throughout their naturalistic environment.


In September 2019, I began a new journey to start my MED Childhood Practice (master's in education). I chose this course as it was offered on a part-time basis which would work alongside my work commitments and allow me the opportunity to learn within a recognised and respected university.


I am very much looking forward to embarking on my new journey here at Bright Starts Glasgow.

Hello, my name is Heather


I have been qualified for 10 years, my current qualification is a BA in Childhood Studies, I aspire to progress onto my BA in Childhood Practice.


I have worked in all playrooms, with all ages. This has given me the experience and skillset when passing on knowledge to my team. I started off as a practitioner, soon promoted to senior early years practitioner.


From this experience, I was promoted to head of toddlers and thereafter head of room in preschool.


I started Bright Starts Glasgow in January as Deputy Manager. I am passionate about learning experiences and the origins of celebrations to further develop children's interests. I am passionate about toilet training for toddlers - supporting their independence. I love to get to know all children and their needs, so I can support them at a deeper level.
