Our child has settled in brilliantly, he learns loads every day and we get daily updates of all the activities that change daily. The staff are lovely and keep the kids busy with play, crafts, reading, and exploring the lovely garden.

I can not speak highly enough of RAFA KIDZ Shawbury. The ladies there have looked after both my boys from babies to pre-school and every aspect has been amazing.
The bonds each of my boys has built are more than anything you could wish for with the staff and the friends they have made.
I always know
when I have left them at nursery and if they are upset or unsettled that they are OK and being well looked after.

I have 2 sons that both attend the nursery and it's wonderful to know they're in good hands while we're working. Staff are friendly and happy to help with any inquiry my eldest was so shy and reluctant to join in at first but the girls have really brought him out of his shell and made him so comfortable
to be himself.

Our second child now in this nursery, other than a change of name there isn't much difference. The staff are still amazing and friendly and they have made our youngest child's first day very easy. Great facilities and great to see the updates through the day on the app. We are very happy we get to use
this nursery again.

Brilliant staff who build strong relationships with the kids - my son gets excited at drop off once he sees staff members he recognises. I am very grateful for their excellent care. Varied activities that are inventive and creative and seem great for development.
Lunches seem good, room for improvement
with breakfast & tea but I'm
aware this is being worked on. Ultra-processed foods & desserts (apart from fruit & natural yogurt) should be removed as far as possible.

My son started here in October this year, on his first day, he was understandably a bit nervous to be away from mum and dad for the first time when we dropped him off. The staff though were brilliant with him, we got regular updates on his progress throughout the day and great feedback when we picked
him up. By the end of the week, he was loving nursery, eating well, and really settled in. The activities are great and he's learning loads and developing his social skills with the other babies there. Great facility with friendly and welcoming staff.

We love Shawbury Rafa Kidz! Our daughter went there up until August when she started school and it really helped to shape her as a person and she grew in confidence so much, especially in pre-school. Our son now goes there and I can't fault it. They have lovely playgrounds, and caring, kind staff who
know all the kids on a personal level and we always get updates and pictures. the staff are the best of the best and make an effort to get to know every parent by name and always have time for a chat! Thank you Shawbury Rafa Kidz.

Amazing nursery. The staff are fab. Our baby started at 9 months and have every confidence with leaving children and really think have helped development.
Great updates. Really good on the app to see sleep and nappies.
Great value as well. Would love some outside trips for forest school etc if possible
add-ons.
Would love a 7 am drop off option similar to the 6 o'clock stay.

My daughter attends the Holiday Club at RAFAKidz Shawbury and absolutely loves it. She also attended the setting prior to it being RAFAKidz and thrived in the current team's care. The nursery operates a home-from-home approach and makes every child and family feel welcome and at ease. Learning opportunities
are varied to meet the needs of every child. Nothing is ever too much from basic needs to covering extra sessions at the drop of a hat. The nursery has three large rooms and 4 large playgrounds to accommodate the needs of each age group.

So happy with this nursery! Both of my children attend here. The staff are all amazing, they always have time to talk on pick up and drop-offs. My children learn so much there and are happy there, talking about different staff when they are home. The only gripe I have is having to pay when my children
aren't there (on holiday or bank holidays) I understand still paying if they are sick. Also communication from RAFA above the nursery hasn't been great. But I can't fault the nursery itself.

Overall it is a good nursery and basic needs are met. The staff are amazing, caring and thoughtful. Since RAFA Kidz took over in April though, we have less posts about what the kids are doing. This makes it feel less personal as we can't talk to the children after nursery about what they did that day.
It also means they take/post less pictures of the children and children that aren't in full time are not in many photos/not in any photos at all. This has been quite disappointing after RAFA Kidz have taken over. The parents like to see what is going on and feel like a part of their child's day.

Staff have been amazing with adapting to my child's medical needs with training. My child is settled in lovely. Playing with children his own age and starting to join in with things. His speech is behind because of laziness but has started to say a few more words now. Staff doing an amazing job I have
no worries dropping him off I know he's safe and loving it there. Communication has been amazing as well.

Hello, I am Jo. I have recently returned to work as a Nursery Manager after being on Maternity Leave with my beautiful baby boy. I have worked for RAFAKidz since April this year, but I have worked at RAF Shawbury for 15 years. I am very lucky to have a good strong team around me, who help support me with the day-to-day running of the nursery. I enjoy creating good bonds with parents and children and helping create positive futures for our children.

Job Title: Deputy Manager - Level 5

Hello, I'm Bex, I have worked for RAFAKidz since April this year, but have developed a progressive career in childcare since 2006 where I gained my Nvq Level 2 and 3, then went on to achieve my Nvq Level 2 in playwork. I have worked in many roles mainly in a private nursery from apprentice to room leader. When I joined RAF Shawbury it was formerly Spring Nurseries of 2019 I progressed really quickly to a Room Leader and then Deputy Manager (My Current) role. My role involves supporting Jo our Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery. I enjoy showing new parents around our setting and explaining to them what our Ethos and Curriculum are all about here at RAF Shawbury, creating a secure bond from the moment you come to visit our setting. I enjoy the day-to-day side of running things and like being busy by using my initiative to problem solve and come up with solutions to help support our amazing staff team. I also enjoy sharing the children's passion and knowledge for learning and how we can develop our practice to better the experiences and opportunities we provide for our children.

I'm Ellie. I am a Senior Early Years Practitioner here at RAFAKidz Shawbury. I currently oversee the day-to-day running of the Robins (Toddler) Room. I have been employed at Shawbury since 2021 and gained my Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification. I am currently working towards my Level 6 Early Years Teacher Status and will complete my qualification in November 2024.


My Favourite thing to do with the children is Mathematics activities and embed this into their daily learning.
When I am not working at the nursery I am a Sergeant in the RAF Cadets and specialize in aerospace and progressive training as the Training Officer of my Squadron.

Hello, I am Mary, and I've worked in childcare for over 8 years, and have been at RAF Shawbury for just over 4 years now. I wouldn't change it for the world. I love everything about my job, but I would say making the children feel happy, safe, and loved.
I like to ensure parents that I know and care for each child as I would my own, making them laugh, supporting their development and to thrive here at the nursery. I currently work in the Robins (Toddler) Room.
Outside of work I spend all my time with my own young son who as every parent knows is the best thing in their life. I love my little family, and we have some pet guinea pigs. Simple life makes me very happy and having a job to come to that I genuinely love is the icing on the cake for me.

Hello, I'm Nicki. I currently work in the Starlings (Babies) Room. I started working at ''Shawbury Squirrels'' in 2007 completing my Level 3 working voluntarily at the nursery during that time. I live locally so working at the nursery helps me to maintain a good home life/work balance. I enjoy working in the baby room and like being part of a team.
