Funding & Fees Guide for Altrincham Preparatory School and Nursery

  • Long Day 8.00am - 6.00pm - £78 including breakfast, lunch and high tea
    Short Day 8.30am - 3.30pm or 9.00am - 4.00pm - £64 including lunch
    Half Day 8.00am - 1.00pm - £48 including breakfast and lunch
    Healthy morning and afternoon snacks are provided


  • Sibling Discounts
    For two siblings at either APS or Bowdon Preparatory School (BPS), there will be a 5% reduction in academic fees (exclusive of taxes) for each child.
    Where there are 3 or more siblings at either APS or BPS, then a 10% reduction (exclusive of taxes) will apply to the third (youngest) and subsequent siblings(s).


    Fee Payment
    Fees are invoiced termly prior to the start of each term, with a statement of account being provided at the end of the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms. Fees may be paid in the following ways:
    1.   Annually via bank transfer or cheque.
    2.   Termly by direct debit, bank transfer or cheque.
    3.   Monthly by direct debit or bank transfer with payments being spread over 10 months (1st September to 1st June).


    Assistance with fee payments for boys under 5s
    •   We administer the Government Tax-Free Childcare scheme. For more information visit https://www.gov.uk/get-tax-free-childcare
    •   We accept Childcare Vouchers / Tax Fee Childcare towards the payment of fees for boys up to and including the term in which they turn 5.
    •   Please note that Tax-free Childcare cannot be used alongside Childcare Vouchers and vice-versa.


    Application charges
    Registration fee - £60 (inclusive of taxes) payable to add a boy's name onto the waiting list and covers all administration prior to entry.
    Deposit - £500 payable when accepting a place. Refunded at the time a boy leaves the school subject to all Terms and Conditions being met. If a boy leaves without a term's notice being given this will not be refunded.

My son absolutely loved going to nursery at APS. The staff are so enthusiastic, nurturing and approachable. I loved getting the picture updates to see what he had been up to. The facilities are all lovely, clean and varied. He made lots of lovely friends and thrived during his time in nursery thanks
to his teachers. I couldn't have sent him to a better place, would highly recommend!

Only from viewing APS as a prospective school for my son did I become aware they had a nursery. I can honestly say this was a blessing in disguise as my son has been happy there ever since. He is now in reception, still very happy and really thriving.
The teachers are a credit to the school. They
are all incredibly passionate and dedicated to improving the learning experience. Every child is valued and encouraged.
The nursery facilities are impressive with a wonderful exploratory space and beautiful surroundings, the boys are immersed in a learning experience without realising. The integrated forest school, trikes, tennis courts and the lovely bell field with impressive climbing area are just a few things to mention.
I would absolutely recommend APS nursery, it gave my little boy the best start to learning and he is still happy learning. An attitude that has certainly been encouraged and nurtured through being at APS.

I have nothing but good things to say about Altrincham Preparatory School and Nursery. My youngest son just joined the nursery but my older son also attended a few years ago before joining the main school. The staff are friendly, helpful and obviously well-trained. They all take time to get to know
your son as an individual and meet his specific needs, offering settling sessions to help them adjust to starting nursery. Communication has been excellent and they even send photo updates of what the boys are up to through an app. The facilities are impressive, with lots of play/activity options and a learning environment that fosters early literacy and numeracy skills. I also really appreciate that they try to get the boys outside as much as the weather permits. Safety is a priority and the site is secured with multiple gates with a code required at the main entrance. My son loves going to nursery and he comes home happy and tired (in a good way). Can't ask for more.

A brilliant, happy and safe place. Everyone cares for the boys so well. Permanent, well-qualified staff. All the staff know all the children and the children feel part of the school. A step up from your normal nursery.

I highly recommend the nursery of Altrincham Preparatory School. My two-year-old son joined this nursery this January and he has been cared for very well. The environment is very neat and clean, all the teachers are responsible and kind. Before this one, we tried another two nurseries, compared to them,
this nursery is the cleanest and warmest one.

I have worked in childcare, specifically in Early Years, since completing my degree in 2007. My past experience includes working in day nurseries, pre-schools and as a private nanny. I then went on to qualify as an Early Years Teacher, which has given me a thorough understanding of how best to support children's learning and development between the ages of 0-5. Since joining the Nursery at APS in 2018, I have been lucky enough to work closely with it's dedicated team who are truly committed to providing a positive experience for our boys and their families. When not in school I can be found spending time with my family, which includes my own little boy and our 2 dogs.
