I have two children who are very fond of this pre-school. The staff are great with the children and very good at communicating with the parents. They are supportive and interested in what the child likes to do outside of school and provide a comfortable and nurturing environment away from home. The
facilities provided are all new and thought has been given to the design of the pre-school to allow the children to be as independent as possible. There are many activities for them to enjoy and the large amount of outdoor space also makes it a fun environment for the little ones.

My little girl has attended Upton Heath Preschool since September, we are incredibly happy with how she has adjusted. The staff are amazing, nothing too much trouble, we love that she goes in with a smile.
It's not just care but education, which in my opinion is more than you can ask for. Everything
is very child-centred, my little girl is bilingual, and she has received a book in both languages that she speaks which I was very impressed with.

I can not recommend S4YC @ Upton Heath enough!
The staff are amazing, they are very approachable and warm. My daughter can be very clingy but I have no problem with her going into nursery she is very happy going to play.
Any questions or concerns I have the staff are more than happy to take the
time to discuss them and work with me. They even take the time to get to know my older children.
The environment is safe, clean, and very welcoming. With lots of stimulation and educational activities.
I love the fact that I am allowed in to collect my daughter and drop her off I want to rather than just hand off at the door. There have been a few occasions where parents are invited to stay and play which is amazing as I can see what my daughter does when she is there and see the friends that she has made.
The manager is fantastic very down to earth and always takes the time to speak to the parents.

S4YC @ Upton Heath Primary School is a welcoming, safe environment where the children develop strong relationships with their experienced teachers.
They have a fantastic outdoor area and lots of resources for children to freely explore.
The teachers all create a nurturing individual experience for
each child and ensure all children are engaged and enthusiastic about learning.
A particular staff member in particular goes the extra mile to ensure my son's curiosity is encouraged and has ensured his start to Pre-School is both safe and fun and he is so happy to attend S4YC.
What a great start to education!

The staff are tolerant and very understanding to the children. It was very easy for my son to get used to it. When my son goes to school, he gets excited as if he is going to the zoo. Although he is 3 years old, he wants to go to school in the morning.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.496)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.496) out of 10 for S4YC @ Upton Heath Primary School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.963 for S4YC @ Upton Heath Primary School is calculated as follows: ( (79 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 4.963

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.533 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for S4YC @ Upton Heath Primary School is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 number of registered child places is 8.4. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.4 = 0.833

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
