Through their partnership with Aberdeen City Council, St Margaret’s School is pleased to be able to offer fully funded nursery places up to 1140 hours per school year for all eligible children.
Funding is paid directly from Aberdeen City Council to St Margaret’s School for Girls and will be detailed on your invoice.
Your child is eligible for an Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) place if his/her birthday is between the following dates:
1 March 2021 to 28 February 2022 – Ante-Pre-School Year
1 March 2020 to 28 February 2021 – Pre-school Year
Children are entitled to an ELC place in the school term following their third birthday.
The core funded full-time hours are currently 8.00am - 2.20pm (term-time 36 weeks) i.e. 1140 hours per school year fully funded by by Aberdeen City Council.
After School Care in the nursery is available from either 2.20pm – 4.15pm or 2.20pm - 5.30pm at an additional cost. A very popular Holiday Club is available for certain weeks of the school holidays.

Job Title: Maternity Leave Cover Nursery Manager

Alison qualified with a BA in Childhood Practice (with distinction), before also undertaking a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education.
Having had her own private nursery from 2008 to 2022, Alison then worked for Aberdeen City Council nurseries, before working at a private world wide nursery company. Being in a private school has completed her cycle of being a manager in all types of child care setting and with that, Alison brings a hugely impressive depth of experience and skill set.

Laura attended Aberdeen College and gained and HNC in Early Childhood Education, before working for a couple of years as a Nursery Nurse. She then enrolled at Aberdeen University and completed a B.Ed (Hons) Primary.
Laura started her teaching career in Edinburgh and worked there for a number of years, teaching in all stages of Primary School before returning to Aberdeen where she took up a post teaching in Inverurie. She worked in the same school for 9 years, teaching again in a variety of stages but spent the majority of her time in Early Years (p1-2).
In April 2019, Laura started work as a Nursery Teacher at St Margarets. She is passionate about the Early Years and supporting the children as the lead in their learning. Laura loves working as part of the team at St Margaret's nursery, to ensure their children get the best possible start to their early education.
