Wages from £26,999 to £28,225 depending on experience and qualification

Child's Play are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner, holding a full and relevant level 3 qualification or above (or qualifying this summer), to join our friendly staff team on a full time basis. The post would suit both experienced and newly qualified applicants as the team is small and very supportive.

We have a warm, friendly family atmosphere, with strong relationships between the children's home life & nursery at the heart of our provision.

Children’s early experience of living things is important to us. We have two fantastic outdoor play areas that are a high focus in our daily provision and nursery pets.

Our setting was judged as outstanding in our last three Ofsted inspections

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment
  • Meeting the children’s individual needs through planning, preparing activities, ensuring equality of opportunities and reviewing the curriculum in relation to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidance.
  • Having key person responsibilities, keeping accurate developmental records and observations
  • Working in partnership with the parents/families to share children's milestones and plan for progress.
  • Following the policies and procedures set out by the nursery including safeguarding and confidentiality
  • Working co-operatively as part of a team
  • Attending and contributing to monthly staff meetings
  • Taking children to visit the local retirement home

Essential requirements:

  • A genuine passion to provide high quality childcare, enthusiasm and energy for working with children
  • Full and relevant level 3 childcare qualification - or due to qualify.
  • A sound understanding of the EYFS and Safeguarding
  • Good communication skills, with a high standard of written and spoken English
  • Experience of working with the under 5's (experience gained during training is acceptable)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • No criminal record
