Nursery Room Leader

A fantastic opportunity has become available at Pixieland Nurseries. We are looking for a Nursery Room leader at our Plymouth nursery, to fit well within their friendly team and learn skills on the job whilst supporting children’s play, learning & development. We are looking for a professional attitude, but with a sense of fun and excitement as this allows our children to thrive within our nursery family environment.

Purpose of post

• To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children in the nursery
• To give support to other team members within the nursery and lead the room with your team
• To work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop

Main duties

• Leading and supporting your team
• Creating programmes and activities for the children
• Keep records of children’s development and liaise with parents
• Upholding safeguarding practices with your team
• Preparing and maintaining environments to meet children’s needs
• Supporting your team to develop their role with the help of your manager
• Complete transfer documents and ensure they meet EYFS requirements

Qualifications:

• Must hold NVQ level 3 in childcare or above
