Salary - £29,120 per annum 

40 hours a week

Please note that whilst 40 hours per week is preferred, we can review applications for flexible working, salary will reflect reduction in hours.

Set in beautiful grounds, Head Start Crews Hill Day Nursery & Pre-school are seeking to appoint a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner due to growth to be based in our under 2's room. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be joining a nursery with ambitions plans, where the staff team are stable and happy and enthusiastic about creating amazing experiences for the children within our care. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated, enthusiastic nursery practitioner, who can work closely within a growing team, you should possess great communication skills and have a calm, approachable nature.

The aim of our Nursery is to provide a happy, home-away-from-home environment for all children in our care, with emphasis on individual attention and learning through play. This position would suit an experienced Nursery Practitioner who has previously worked in a similar environment caring for children aged between 0-5 years old and is looking for an exciting career opportunity.  This role is working 40 hours per week, various shifts patterns between the opening and closing times of the nursery 7:30am-18:30pm. This nursery is open all year round and is not a term time only role. You will need to have a full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification. Salary £29,120 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

As Nursery Practitioner, you will:

  • Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met.
  • Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery and promote these daily in every routine.
  • Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, and the safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.
  • Maintain strictly professional relationships and report any complaints or concerns to management in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent.
  • Attend regular team meetings to ensure that you remain updated on key priorities, changes, developments and regularly review company policies and procedures.

As Nursery Practitioner, you will need:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification - essential
  • Fluent in written and spoken English - essential
  • Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years - desirable
  • Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
