Are you ready for a new role as a room leader where we can help you grow and develop to your next role as a third in charge? 

 The New Barnet Day Nursery & Pre-school, which is located in lovely grounds, is looking to hire a Pre-School Room Leader. We are looking for a Room Leader in the Preschool room to assist management in providing the highest standard of compliance, care and education for children, and effectively manage daily operations of the nursery, including positive partnerships with staff and parents. This is an excellent chance for a committed, motivated Pre-School Room Leader who can collaborate closely with a developing team. You should be calm and accessible, with excellent communication skills. Opportunity to grow into a Designated Safeguarding Lead within the setting as well as being a key holder which training will be provided for. 

This role is working 40 hours per week, various shifts patterns between the opening and closing times of the nursery 7:30am-18:30pm. This nursery is open all year round and is not a term time only role. You will need to have a full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification. Salary ranging from £26,500 - £29,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

As Room Leader, you will:

  • Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
  • Enhance the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development
  • Assist staff in updating the EyLog system and their child learning journals with the highest quality
  • Promote respect and credibility for this position by leading as a role model with impartiality and consistency
  • Assist with embedding an effective key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and identify training or development needs for staff
  • Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on EyMan system and on file
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times
  • Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met

As Room Leader, you will need:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential
  • Over 1 year’s experience working in Early Years - Essential
  • Over 6 months’ experience working in a senior position - Desirable
  • Sound knowledge of Ofsted expectations to achieve a Good or Outstanding rating - Desirable
  • Knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
  • Fluent in written and spoken English - Essential
