Building Blocks Nursery is an established nursery chain in North Birmingham and we have been providing early years care and education for over 20 years. We are currently looking for fulltime (level 3 or above) practitioners to join our team.

We believe the type of early years experiences that children receive can shape who they are and creates the 'thinkers and doers' of the future. We are looking for practitioners who are highly motivated and have a genuine passion for early years education. We want our practitioners to understand the importance of play and of allowing children to make choices, we want practitioners who want to be with the children and want to make a difference to their lives.

As an employer we believe we are fair and approachable and we invest in training and staff development with many of our staff being with us for over 15 years. We want our staff to want to come to work and we regard what we do as far more than just a job - we are an early years family.

Our setting is undertaking the curiosity approach accreditation and we are throughly enjoying this journey and being able to reflect on who we are and where we want our nursery to be.

Applicants must be reliable, honest and hard working and we are looking for commitment and dedication to the children and to the team.

Our fulltime position is a 40 hour post and requires the successful applicant to work one week of earlies (7.30-4.30) and one week of lates (9.15-6.15) and this is alternated each week. Staff have a 1 hour lunch break each day and holidays start at 28 days per annum but increase annually up to 34 days.

All posts are subject to safeguarding checks and we require 2 satisfactory references and a current DBS check.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Minimum level 3 or above in a recognised early years qualification
  • Paediatric first aid preferred but not essential as we can arrange this training.
