We are seeking an experienced deputy to manage and lead a team to ensure quality care, play and learning is provided for children aged 0-11. To assist with day to day compliance and administration, to support the smooth running of service, and high quality delivery of inclusive practice.

•  Ensure health and safety and safeguarding standards are adhered to in the setting in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, other frameworks and government guidelines.

•  Support with rotas and staff cover.

•  Be the first point of contact for the team, and for the parents/carers for any issue concerning the welfare of children in the absence of the manager.

•  Offering advice, guidance and support, meet-and-greet, resolving parents/carers issues, and gaining insight through measuring parent’s satisfaction.

•  Good understanding of the policies that relate to families and ensure families are kept up to date with changes.

•  To be the first point of contact for parents/carers and be involved in setting visits and new starter tours.

•  Responsible for the care, collection and supervision of children from school and delivering them safely to the setting. Taking extra children 

• Support to the manager to ensure all safeguard standards and codes of conducts are met for staff, placement students, volunteers, instructors and coaches.  Ensure safeguarding standards are upheld and conduct is professional challenged and monitored regularly.

• Ensure the team have access to appropriate child protection training and other training identified as part of their development.

•  Ensure confidentiality is maintained and sensitive information protected.

•  Responsible for ensuring children settle well and care and learning needs are meet.

•  Make appropriate provision for children with Special Education Needs, accessing the appropriate support from external agencies and signposting families to support agencies.

•  Implementing early intervention strategies across the setting where necessary.

•  Support with the delivery of coaching and mentoring to staff team to ensure the staff team meet and maintain high standards.

• Monitoring the quality of care and learning within the setting and be an active champion of excellence across the setting.

• Understand the procedures for responding to concerns about children’s welfare.

• Responding in a sensitive and professional manner and being a suitable role model.

•  Delivering and implementing programmes to promote the wellbeing of children, families and staff.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • • Proven track record of working with children and young people aged 0-11.
  • • Experience in leading a team.
  • • Demonstrate a track record for implementing change that has benefited children and young people in your care.
  • • Sound understanding of safeguarding role and responsibilities
  • safeguarding standards and best practise in a care establishment or setting.
  • • Have a passion for promoting the wellbeing of children aged 0-11.
  • • Current 12-hour Pediatric First Aid Certificate -desirable
  • Experience working with SEND
