Responsibilities include:

  1. To be a positive role model to ensure that the Nursery’s values are maintained.
  2. To implement appropriate planned activities and programmes for Nursery children in partnership with Management. 
  3. To ensure that personal, physical, social, spiritual, emotional and moral needs are adequately addressed and to be actively involved in supporting children in their achievements of planned objectives and goals.
  4. To be responsible for the care, welfare, health, safety and security of children and implementation of safe working procedures and practices in accordance with Nursery policies
  5. To help supervise Nursery activities and routines, giving specific help to individual children to ensure that they remain focussed.
  6. To assist with the physical care of children within the Nursery.
  7. To plan, prepare and direct the presentation of displays, ensuring that they stimulate vocal and receptive responses and all children’s work is displayed
  8. To encourage the involvement of children and parents/ carers in the curriculum and running of the Nursery in order to promote the child’s self-esteem. To undertake good and effective communications with all staff and parents / carers.
  9. To attend staff and room meetings.
  10. To undertake training as required.
  11. To participate in parent meetings with the key parents
  12. To encourage the involvement of children and parents/carers in the curriculum, festivals/ celebrations and charity events.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Early Years Educator (or approved equivalent) desirable
