Are you passionate about creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children? The Early Years Academy is looking for a dedicated Housekeeper to ensure our nursery remains spotless, fresh, and hygienic, providing children with the best possible space to learn and grow.

Job Summary

As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the nursery. Your responsibilities will include cleaning all areas, handling laundry, and supporting meal times, ensuring a high standard of hygiene while following health and safety guidelines, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Ensure all nursery rooms, common areas, and bathrooms are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
• Perform daily cleaning routines, including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces to keep the nursery looking and smelling fresh.
• Conduct monthly deep cleans of rooms and common areas.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the Nursery Manager.

Laundry Duties

• Handle all nursery laundry, including washing, drying, and distributing children’s bedding and towels.
• Keep clean items organised and properly stored.
• Monitor and order cleaning supplies in line with the nursery’s cleaning budget.

Meal Time Support

• Collect and clear meal trays from rooms back to the kitchen after meal times.
• Support with cleaning and disinfecting tables and chairs in eating areas.

Health and Safety Compliance

• Follow COSHH guidelines for the safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Participate in training to stay updated on health and safety standards.

General Support

• Assist with setting up and clearing away after nursery events or special occasions.
• Provide additional support to the nursery team when needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
