Little Crickets Forest School is an outdoor nursery dedicated to children aged 2-4 years. Embracing the Forest School ethos, we provide children with unique opportunities to develop through hands-on experiences in a natural environment. Our approach fosters environmental awareness, encouraging children to explore, learn, and grow in the great outdoors.

Role Overview: Support the Forest School Manager in the effective and efficient running of the nursery. Ensure that all policies are followed and that staff are supported and mentored. In the absence of the Forest School Manager, the Deputy Manager would take responsibility for the setting.

  • Support the Forest School Manager in the effective daily management of the Forest School, ensuring all Policies, Procedures, Statutory Welfare Requirements, and Ofsted expectations are maintained at all times.
  • Serve as a role model to the staff team, demonstrating high-quality practices with individual and group work with children and handling staff and parent issues as they arise.
  • Promote the safety, security, and well-being of all children, staff, and visitors.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead in the Manager’s absence, addressing and supporting any arising issues.
  • Collaborate with the Forest School Manager to achieve an Outstanding grading with Ofsted.
  • Contribute to a rigorous action plan supporting the development areas in the self-evaluation form.
  • Embrace, understand, and promote Little Crickets Forest School, recognizing your role as a management team member in providing high levels of care and education.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • A Forest School qualification and relevant experience are preferred. However
