We are looking for a passionate, friendly and hard-working Lead Practitioner to join our nursery team at Chestnut Nursery School - Ray Lodge, IG8 7PG.

The Role

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day/40 hours per week, following a shift pattern. Ray Lodge is open between the hours of 7.45am-6pm

Key Duties:

  • Being a key person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families according to the EYFS
  • Promoting and supporting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues
  • Take necessary steps to safeguard all who access the setting, adhering to the safeguarding policy
  • Ensuring the health, safety and well-being of the children at all times
  • Flexible in working hours if required.
  • Support daily routines.
  • Follow policies and procedures.
  • Leading staff members and teams.
  • Light cleaning duties.
  • Maintain a high level of supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality.

Requirements

The successful applicant will need to have…

  • Level 3 qualification
  • ·Previous room leader experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Work well in a team
  • Great understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS)
  • Strong passion for a child-centred approach to play and learning
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Excellent organisation skills and time-management

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Level 3 early years childcare qualification
  • Experience preferred
