It is the responsibility of all senior practitioners at Little Stars to ensure they are running their room to a high standard following policies and procedures. They must ensure the wellbeing of all children within the setting working in partnership with families ensuring we are Getting It Right for Every Child.
Operational Responsibilities
· Encourage and support staff within their room ensuring there is consistent effective communication
· Ensure all relevant information is passed to the Manager or Depute Manager
· Monitor and observe staff through peer observations delegating roles within their room
· Observe and track children’s progress within key group and playroom
· Adhere to policies, procedures and Circular 57 at all times
· Plan enriching, learning opportunities to support children’s learning through their own interests
· Liaise with families, colleagues, and other professionals to ensure children’s needs are being met
· Ensure care plans, planning, observations and learning journals are up to date with relevant information
· Participate in the smooth operation of the playroom ensuring you communicate with colleagues regularly
· It is your responsibility to monitor your own continuous personal development in line with SSSC requirements. You must keep up to date with current legislation.
