**Thames Tiddlers Nursery** is looking for an enthusiastic and
self-motivated individual who has a passion for change in Early Years
Childhood Education. At Thames Tiddlers Nursery we are inspired by the
unique and creative approach of Reggio Emilia and have been inspired
by this approach for over 12 years. We require for the person applying
to be willing to adapt and work to an enquiry based learning approach.
What experience and qualifications must I have to apply?
- Minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent
- A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Knowledge of child protection procedures
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Good references and a clear enhanced DBS check
- Leadership and management skills
The role of head of room is to;
- To take responsibility for planning experiences and encounters for
all children and to assess children’s individual learning and
development in relation to the EYFS curriculum.
- To work alongside the management team with the daily operations of
the nursery setting.
- To lead and inspire others who work within their room to provide
the best possible childcare.
- Working as part of a team and using your initiative and
imagination to generate new ideas. Using leadership and management
skills to manage your team.
- Using your excellent communication skills to build strong
relationships with parents, children and staff and to welcome
visitors to the nursery.
- To be flexible within working practices of the Setting. Be
prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain
domestic jobs within the Setting, e.g. preparation of snack meals,
cleansing of equipment etc.
- To be flexible with your working hours to cover educator absences.
- To attend additional professional development days for example,
safeguarding, first aid and visiting other nurseries.

pandemic affecting so many peoples mental health we ensure that we
offer support via Bupa Health Care as well as in house support from
our companionate managers and educators.
Educators have attended three other Reggio Emilia inspired nursery
settings for professional visits in the last six years. The
Atelierista and manager also attended a visit to the infant toddler
and preschools of Reggio Emilia, Italy in April 2015 and the Company
Director attended again in 2017 taking two more nursery practitioners.
