We're looking for a Nursery Practitioner to provide a safe, stimulating, educational and fun environment for children attending Sutton Day Nursery based at Sutton Sports Village, in Surrey. Our Nurseries provide childcare and welfare for children of up to five years of age, so it’s imperative that the facilities and surroundings provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
High quality early learning and care which is in line with Early Years Foundation Stage requirements will be key to your role. You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills as you’ll work with colleagues and partners to integrate the nursery with the wider children’s services brand to help identify and support the needs of local families with young children.
Ideally you’ll have experience of working with children under five years of age and their families with an NVQ Level 3 in Child Development (or equivalent) and be able to respond to both group and individual needs. However we are prepared to offer funding for a Level 2 or Level 3 (if you hold Maths and English GCSE's to level A-C / 4-9) qualification for the right applicant. Knowledge of the EYFS framework and principles plus safeguarding issues, procedures and an understanding of equality and diversity issues would be beneficial in this role. It goes without saying you’ll be a confident team member with a positive driven approach and attitude.
In return, we offer a range of benefits that you’d expect from the UK’s largest leisure provider:
• Pension schemes
• Ride to work scheme
• Discounted membership at our leisure centres
• The opportunity to join the GLL Society and have a say in how we’re run plus associated social events
• Career pathways
• Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best
If you’re passionate and committed about what you do and believe in our social ethos of accessibility and affordability to all, then apply now.
The welfare and safety of the children in our care is of the utmost importance to us at GLL. We follow safer recruitment procedures to ensure that our staff are checked and appropriate to work with children and young people. Therefore we’ll require you to complete an enhance DBS check before you will be allowed to start work.
All pay rates are subject to skills, experience, qualifications and location. To be shortlisted for the role, internal applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to GLL by becoming a Society member where eligible.
