Assistant Manager

We are Happy Niños Nursery and Pre-School based in Stratford, East London, walking distance from Stratford International or Maryland stations. We are looking for someone who can manage the nursery alongside the Nursery Manager.

Qualifications and experience

NVQ Level 3+ in early years childcare

At least 2 years experience in a nursery or other similar childcare setting

At least 1 year in role such as room leader, third in charge, deputy manager.

Who are we?

Happy Niños Nursery & Pre-school is a nursery in Stratford, opened in August 2023. The nursery's vision is to create a happy and encouraging space, surrounded by stimulating and educational resources, allowing the children to grow and reach their full potential and support them in their journey to school start.

Happy Niños Nursery and Pre-school are proud of the EYFS knowledge, the special educational needs competence and the extra curricular activities that the nursery will . Amongst others, you will find Music and Dance lessons, Spanish bilingual teaching, Cooking class, sports lessons and more to make exploring the world fun and enjoyable for all ages and needs.

The nursery has have 3 rooms for different ages, the baby room for babies until they start walking, the toddler room from walking to 3 years old and the preschool room for 3 to 5 year old's ready for school. Each room is specifically designed with furniture and equipment to allow for the children to gain an understanding of the EYFS curriculum and more.

Our nursery is based between Stratford and Maryland stations which stations are served by the Elizabeth, Central, Jubilee, London Overground, DLR and other mainline train lines.

What are we looking for?

• A good practical knowledge of the EYFS and to ensure the setting meets each area,
• To support to create and to know the policies and procedures of the nursery and ensure they are being followed,
• Ability to liaise with regulators such as OFSTED if needed,
• A good understanding of planning, observing and assessments,
• Ability and proven experience in building and leading a team in a childcare setting,
• Ability to complete tasks in a time frame.
• Somebody who can work well in a group as well as on their own,
• Someone who can support, supervise and guide staff with day to day duties.
• Someone who is able to lead and run the Nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager.
• The importance of safeguarding and whistleblowing,
• Build a strong and positive relationship with parents to ensure we are working in partnership,
• Communicate and cooperate well under pressure with Nursery Manager and Directors.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
