The Finchley Day Nursery is a welcoming and nurturing setting located in the heart of East Finchley, just a short 10 minute walk from East Finchley Underground Stations, offering excellent transport links to and from central London. This convienet location makes it an ideal choice for families. 

Orignally a Baptist Church, the nursery has been thoughtfully restored and refurbished to provide a warm and inviting space where children can thrive. We place a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, providing an all year round garden and regular outings within the local community, encouraging children to explore and engage with the world around them. 

The Finchley Day Nursery & Pre-school are excited to be expanding and are looking to appoint a Level 3 Practitioner to join our team in the Under 2's room. You will be part of a nursery with ambitious plans for the future, where the staff is stable, happy and dedicated to creating exceptional experiences for the children in our care. The role is ideally 40 hours a week, but we are open to reviewing applications for a 36 hour week, spread over four days to accommodate the right candidate. 

About our Nursery Practitioner role:

  • To work with management in providing the highest standard of compliance, care and education for children, and effectively manage daily operations of the nursery, including positive partnerships with staff and parents.
  • To work closely with the Room Leader and other staff members in ensuring a smooth running of the daily routine.
  • To contribute ideas to planning ensuring the children receive high quality of learning and development.
  • To liaise with nursery staff regarding children’s specific needs and requirements.
  • To maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment.
  • To adhere to all Nursery policies and procedures
  • To always meet health and safety and environmental health requirements
  • Promoting and ensuring Safeguarding standards for all children and adults in the setting

Essential Criteria - Qualifications/Experience:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Childcare Qualification - Essential
  • Over 1 years’ experience working in Early Years - Essential
  • Sound knowledge of Ofsted expectations to achieve a Good or Outstanding rating - Desirable
  • Knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
  • Fluent in written and spoken English - Essential
