Job description

Nursery Practitioner (Level 3)

We require a Level 3 Qualified or above Nursery Practitioner (with at least one year's childcare experience in a childcare setting).

Full-time post (Part-time posts may be considered for the right applicant)

Responsible to Nursery Manager/Management team

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic worker to join our existing team within our busy and friendly Nursery Setting.

Roles and responsibilities:

To contribute in providing a safe, welcoming clean and inclusive environment for all children and their parents.

To follow and implement all Nursery policies and procedures.

To be an allocated Keyworker for a group of children and have responsibilities to contribute to their ongoing developmental needs and assessments. This will include inputting observations onto our Tapestry system and liaison with external agencies and parents/carers.

To input into the planning and provision of stimulating and developmentally appropriate activities including preparation of resources and Nursery areas.

To work flexibly and cooperatively as part of a team.

To be professional and a positive role model to the children, staff and parents within the setting and to represent Cheeky Monkeys day nursery in a positive manner at all times.

To attend staff meetings, training and parents evenings occasionally outside of nursery operating hours as required.

To respect and value all colleagues, children and parents whilst encouraging and complimenting our positive and diverse working environment.

To undertake any other aspects of Nursery work according to need.

Person Specification:

Hold an appropriate Childcare Level 3 or above Qualification.

Must have a clear understanding of the EYFS and also the OFSTED framework.

Have a professional approach.

Be honest and trustworthy.

Be reliable and have good timekeeping.

Respect confidentiality and diversity.

Have confidence and the ability to use initiative.

Have a kind, caring, fun and approachable manner.

A DBS will be completed as part of this employment.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Relevant level 3 early years qualification.
  • First Aid trained (desireable)
  • Food Hygiene certificate (desireable)
