· To support the team members to have the specific knowledge and skills required to work effectively with children of this age
· Implement and carry out the Early years Foundation Stage, introducing topics and activities based on the individual children’s needs and interests. Working in conjunction with other staff members
· To follow the nursery safeguarding procedure to ensure all children are kept safe, well and secure and ensure all team members are able to do the same
· To keep records of your key children development and learning journeys, share this with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life and institute reviews for parents, in conjunction with the manager
· Support all team members with the early identification and intervention for children with possible special needs and give physical, emotional and intellectual guidance as appropriate
· Support all team members to conduct and end of nursery review (unique summary/transition sheet) of each key child to send/take to school to allow the new provision to have a clear understanding of each child’s key strengths and areas for development
· Undertake appropriate supervision meetings/processes for all members in your team in conjunction with the nursery management approach
· Give feedback for appraisals/probation reviews/supervisions
· Attend nursery management meetings if needed and feed any information back to your team
· Support all staff to engage in good team working
· Support team members to seek out any training or support they may require to fulfil their role and responsibilities
· Support new team members through inductions in partnership with the manager
· Ensure all record keeping is accurate and up-to-date and filed away using the correct processes. This includes learning journeys, accident/incident forms, registers, daily risk assessments ETC
· Ensure all room checks are followed up alongside the team Leader and carry out the targets set in the certain timeframe
· Carry out the daily risk assessments, ensuring the |Health and safety throughout the day
· Liaise with and support parents and other family members
· Liaise with the local authority and other professionals associated with the nursery
· To be involved in out of working hours activities such as, staff meetings, staff training, family/fun day events
