About our nursery:

Headstart Upton provides a fun, nurturing learning environment for children. Staff take part in a continuous training and development programme, which extends and enhances their knowledge and practice. They support apprentices through training programmes and 'home grow' their team. The nursery offers a Forest School, providing lots of fun learning opportunities in the outdoor environment. These sessions take place three days per week, with the area being available throughout the week for each age group to access.

Responsibilities

  • To take full responsibility for staffing, induction, training,& development needs.
  • To ensure systems are in place for accurate reporting and monitoring.
  • To adhere to occupancy and financial budgets and targets.
  • To ensure the Connect Childcare database system is accurate.
  • To ensure the extra-curricular activities meet the requirements of the EYFS.
  • To ensure the Nursery and all rooms adhere to staff ratios and staff deployment.
  • To take full responsibility for safeguarding and child protection within Nursery.
  • To take full responsibility for ensuring that delivery of the EYFS.
  • To ensure there is appropriate and timely liaison with outside professionals.
  • To work closely with the Nursery SENDCo in all aspects of SENDCo.
  • To ensure the safer recruitment process is adhered to.
  • To complete the weekly rotas and registers for staff and children attendance.
  • To provide the required policies and procedures and the necessary support.
  • To ensure the physical health and well-being of children within the Nursery.
