We are friendly nursery based in Manor Park (E12) and we require a Baby Room Leader to work with our under 2’s. At Kids Uni – Day care center we pride ourselves on giving children and families a home from home feel. We are looking for a strong, experienced room leader for our baby room to take responsibility for the day to-day running of the room. Room leader should be able to perform an important role caring for children, maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment, supervising staff and imparting their knowledge and skills to others. Room leader should be creative and reflective leaders able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice and support the management team.
Duties:
1. To implement and promote all policies and the Staff Rules.
2. To have an understanding of children's development, their needs and the provision of positive play
3. To demonstrate a genuine care for children.
4. To care for and supervise the group of children assigned to them.
5. To ensure their safety at all times.
6. To take an interest in the children and their families, to treat them as individuals and with respect at all times.
7. To create an interesting and stimulating environment for the child to develop all their skills.
8. To provide at all times a warm and caring environment
9. To provide support for any children with special needs and to liaise with senior members of staff to promote their welfare and development
10. To ensure positive management of children’s behaviour.
11. To carry out housekeeping duties as appropriate.
12. To ensure the ethos, implementation and legal requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage
13. To support a commitment to the theory and practice of equal opportunities.
14. To ensure an adherence to the health and safety policy relating to the provision of play.
15. To support senior members of staff to ensure put appropriate Child Protection procedures into practice.
16. To be flexible and adaptable, to assist in all areas of nursery work and to provide support for other members of staff.
17. To assist in the keeping of development records and observations, and accident, incident and risk assessment records as appropriate
18. To be able to think and act quickly in a stressful or emergency situation, and to be aware of the correct procedures.
19. To attend staff meetings and training courses as directed by senior managers or tutors.
20. To work as part of that team and contribute positively to the staff team. To provide a role model of good practice to other members of staff.
21. To go about your duties with a positive and enthusiastic attitude - to be organised, efficient, confident, hardworking and conscientious.
22. To promote at all times good relations between staff members, parents and children
23. To cover any other staff responsibilities as appropriate at the request of the Manager, particularly taking into account that unforeseen situations can occur when looking after children, and that the child's care and welfare is paramount at all times.
