We are looking for a flexible, energetic, and conscientious person to
join our team. You will need excellent communication skills and be
able to communicate effectively with children, staff and
parents.
The ideal candidate must hold a full and relevant
Childcare and Education qualification at minimum level 3. A minimum
three years’ experience of working within an early year’s setting is
desirable. The position will be 37.5 hours per week, working between
the hours of 7.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday. Salary is negotiable
depending upon experience.
Overview of the role
As an Early Year’s Educator at Chilton Meadows Day Nursery, you will contribute to the well-being and development of children in our care. You will be an integral part of a team dedicated to creating a positive and engaging learning environment aligned with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure all policies and procedures are followed.

Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning
and development.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of
children.
• Maintain open and effective communication with
parents, caregivers and team members.
• Foster positive
relationships with children, promoting a sense of security and
belonging.
• Carry out personal care routines for children
and administer medications when needed, recording the information in
written form.
We’re a family run children’s nursery and we’re looking to welcome a Level 3 Early Year’s Educator to join our expanding team at Chilton Meadows Day Nursery situated in Chilton Moor, Houghton-le-Spring.
Chilton Meadows Day Nursery is a 35 place Nursery rated ‘Good’ by
Ofsted, providing stimulating and enabling environments for children
aged 0-5 years old. We are proud that Ofsted highlighted that children
are happy and thrive at Chilton Meadows Day Nursery where staff treat
children as part of the family.
Based in Chilton Moor,
Houghton-le-Spring, opening times are 7am – 6.00pm, five days a week
and working hours are fulltime and flexible. Nursery has a large
garden and outdoor areas which we use throughout the day to promote
and encourage the children to discover and explore the natural
materials which promotes children’s confidence and
independence.
We have four rooms, The Nest baby room, The
Duckling room, The Puddle Duckling room and The Puddle Duck preschool room.
The Nest Baby Room (For children aged 0 – 14 Months) At Chilton Meadows Day Nursery, we understand that babies are very special and require an abundance of loving care and attention. Our dedicated team have a wealth of knowledge and experience in caring for young children, they provide a safe and secure environment, combining both stimulation and relaxation.
The Duckling Room (For children aged 15 – 23 Months) provides a fun and challenging environment for inquisitive explorers. A hive of learning activities and experiences, children are encouraged to become more independent and thrive on interaction with their peers alongside their supporting key person. The Duckling Room provides access onto an outdoor transitional area which overlooks the gardens, children can choose to enjoy supervised outdoor play throughout all seasons.
The Puddle Duckling Room (For children aged 24-35 Months) Children have the opportunity to engage with activities aimed at encouraging independence and social interaction within small groups whilst also having space to explore, discover and develop problem solving skills. Home to a variety of different areas of learning children are so able to enjoy outdoor play in our gardens creating endless opportunities and rich, high quality, learning.
The Puddle Duck / Pre School-Room (For children aged (36 - 60 Months+) Home to a variety of different areas of learning children are able to free flow between the indoor and spacious outdoor environment, creating endless opportunities and rich, high-quality, learning. The children also benefit from a relaxing reading area where they can choose to enjoy quiet time, explore their independence and their personal space.
