Nursery Room Leader - Toddlers aged 1-2 Years 

Salary £27,000 per annum 

40 hours a week - you choose 4 days 36- hours or the usual 5 days 40 hours (we want to be flexible and have patterns that work around you) 

Room Leader – Toddlers (1 – 2 Years) at The Hackney Day Nursery & Pre-School.

Hackney is a lovely setting based in East London, just up the road from London Field train station. Currently rated Ofsted Good, Hackney is a nursery that takes over three railway arches and boasts a 5000sqft outdoor space, complete with age-appropriate equipment and a forest school area for the children to explore, take risks and challenge their physical development.

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Room Leader to join our vibrant team, managing our toddler room for children aged 1 to 2 years. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and inspire a dedicated team, while contributing to the development of a rich and engaging learning environment for our young learners.

About our Room Leader role:

· Must have experience working as a room leader.

· To assist management in providing the highest standard of compliance, care and education for children, and effectively manage daily operations of the nursery, including positive partnerships with staff and parents.

· To work closely with the Management Team in ensuring a smooth running of the daily routine.

· To liaise with nursery staff regarding children’s specific needs and requirements, and dietary requirements.

· To maintain safe, clean, and healthy environment.

· To adhere to all Nursery policies and procedures

· To always meet health and safety and environmental health requirements

· To provide stimulating activities and experiences

· To observe, plan and assess children within your key group

· To be passionate, inspiring and work effectively within a team

· Minimum Level 3 childcare and education qualifications or equivalent is essential

. Strong practitioner with experience working in Good or Outstanding nursery

. A can-do attitude

As a Nursery Third in Charge/Room Leader, you will need:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential
  • Over 1 year’s experience working in Early Years - Essential
  • Over 6 months’ experience working in a senior position - Desirable
  • Sound knowledge of Ofsted expectations to achieve a Good or Outstanding rating - Desirable
  • Knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
  • Fluent in written and spoken English - Essential
