Salary £27,000 per annum

40 hours a week - you choose 4 days 36- hours or the usual 5 days 40 hours (we want to be flexible and have patterns that work around you) 

Room Leader – Babies ( 6 months - 1 Year) at The Hackney Day Nursery & Pre-School.

Hackney is a lovely setting based in East London, just up the road from London Field train station. Currently rated Ofsted Good, Hackney is a nursery that takes over three railway arches and boasts a 5000sqft outdoor space, complete with age-appropriate equipment and a forest school area for the children to explore, take risks and challenge their physical development.

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Room Leader to join our vibrant team, managing our baby room for children aged 6 months to 1 year. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and inspire a dedicated team, while contributing to the development of a rich and engaging learning environment for our young learners.

As Room Leader, you will:

  • Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Enhance the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development.
  • Assist staff in updating the EyLog system and their child learning journals with the highest quality.
  • Promote respect and credibility for this position by leading as a role model with impartiality and consistency.
  • Assist with embedding an effective key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and identify training or development needs for staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on EyMan system and on file.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times.
  • Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met.

Requirements and skills:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification - essential
  • Fluent in written and spoken English - essential
  • Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
